The first night I'd spent with Bastion had been one of the best nights of my life. He was impatient and a bit arrogant, but he was also unbelievably sweet and gentle, and he made sure that each touch and press of his tongue against my skin became branded on my mind. Emotional and physical attraction burned between us, and it didn't take much consideration for us to decide we wanted to see each other again.

I bought him a smartphone shortly after we'd started dating, and he called me every morning and night to tell me how beautiful I was or remind me how badly he wanted to stuff me with his cock. His texts brought a smile to my face, and his voice and the sexual promises he would growl through the phone made the slot between my legs warm and wet.

"I'm at work, Bastion." I smiled to myself as I spoke the words, scolding him for contacting me in the middle of a virtual meeting. It was Friday, and we hadn't seen each other in almost a week. We'd developed a routine where I would meet him at the forest's edge on Friday night, and we would spend the weekend cuddling and fucking and enjoying each other's company. I'd brought him a generator, and we'd worked together to wire up his cabin. It couldn't power all that much at once, and it blew through gasoline like you'd never believe, but we were able to run a flat screen and a small refrigerator off of it, and it was more than enough for us. We watched movies, cooked meals, and strolled through the woods together, and though I couldn't spend as much time with him as he would have liked, he never let me forget how much I meant to him, or how much he cared for me.

"I know, I know. I just..." He sighed, his voice quieting. "I miss you."

"I miss you too, but we only have to wait a few more hours. I'll see you tonight, remember?" My heart swelled with happiness at the thought of being in his arms.

"A few more hours will kill me. You've been on my mind all day." He snarled, but I knew his aggravation wasn't directed at me. His emotions bled differently than any human I'd ever met, and though it had taken some getting used to, I had grown to love him even at his worst.

"I know how you feel, but I really do have to go." My voice grew more hushed and urgent when I saw my boss approaching from across the room. "I'm in a meeting, okay? I'll see you soon."

"Fine, but be here on time. You know I don't like to be kept waiting." He spoke commandingly, and I imagined his nails drumming against his desk while his crimson eyes flared with impatience. His upbringing rarely came up in conversation, but on occasions like this, Bastion made it clear that he'd come from a life of royalty. He wasn't used to waiting, let alone not getting what he wanted.

"I will," I promised. "see you soon."

"See you soon, beautiful." His last word rang soft and low and loving, and my cunt clenched at the thought of his face between my thighs - of his agile tongue and the way his claws left imprints on my flesh as he held me in place so he could fuck me with his mouth.

Bastion didn't leave my mind until I'd left work for the day, consuming my thoughts like I was an addict and he was my fix. I simply couldn't get enough of him, and though I hadn't spoken the words yet, I knew that I loved him.

It was still winter, but spring was on the horizon, and the snow and ice had melted. I drove out to the forest, thankful that the cliffside-hugging roads were much less dangerous than they had been the day Bastion and I met. I parked my vehicle out of sight and zipped my jacket up before stepping out onto the cold ground.

It was dark, and an average human might have had second thoughts about stepping blindly into the wilderness, but Bastion had always been there, right at the edge, to greet me.

I usually couldn't see much unless the moon was full and unhindered by clouds, but Bastion's eyes were different than mine, and I trusted him completely as he guided me through the forest. His gentle voice would warn me of obstacles, and his clawed hands would hold mine as I stumbled through the darkness. I couldn't wait to be in his embrace again. He was always so warm and soft, and he smelled so good.
