After an intensely boring day at school, I got to kiss my boyfriend goodbye and go over to my best friend's house.

"I miss you," she said shyly.

"Why?" I asked.

"I rarely see you anymore because of school and you and Eli are spending every one of your spare moments together," she stated.

"Oh. I'm so sorry, Isabel. I miss you too."

We walked in silence until we got to her house. She offered me a snack, but, as usual, I said no.

"So, Tesla?" Isabel started.

"Yeees?" I replied.

"What would you like to do?"

"Anything my best friend wants to do."

We went outside and sat on the grass together.

"Any plans for Prom?" I asked Isabel.

"Well I'm hoping Mike will ask me, but I doubt he will. You?"

Mike has been Isabel's crush since the first day of freshman year. We're seniors.

"I've seen the way he looks at you. He'll ask. And Eli asked me last night at the park, and then he carried me home."

"Sweet!! And no, Mike has barely said three words to me the whole year."

"Only because he's nervous," I returned.

Isabel laughed. "Yeah, right."

We layed down in the grass. "We're going together either way, though, right?" I asked.

Isabel sat up and looked at me. "Tesla! Of course we are!"

"Okay, good!" I smiled at her.

After talking more about boys, I had to go home. "Bye, Iz," I said hugging her.

"Bye, Tes," she said, hugging me back. "Love you. See you tomorrow."

"Love you too," I said waving.

I walked back to get my car and then drove home thinking about Prom and my dress. Prom was a week and a day away and I was beyond nervous.

Soon my phone started ringing. It was my mom. "Hello?" I answered.

"Honey? Eli is here for your tux and dress pick up," Mom answered.

"Alright, Mom. I'll be home in ten," I said and hung up.
