"It's not a long walk. Only about ten minutes." I say. We wave goodbye to Sean and Violet, still sitting inside the bus, and we start walking to my house. "Look at the trees. They're all green and full of leaves. It's beautiful." My favorite time of day is when the sun glistens on the trees. "It's beautiful, just like you are." Munro says. His eyes met mine for a second and my heart seemed to melt so suddenly. "Thank you," I responded softly. I wanted to get home quickly to work on Mr. River's homework: the thankful poem. "I can't wait to write the thankful poem for Mr. River's class." I say, eagerly. "Poetry is very artistic." He replies. "Afterwards we will be doing research on your special power." "I didn't know my scorpion tattoo signified my immortality." I say. "You're a very special girl." He replied, and I softly blush with each word he says.

We make it to the front entrance of my house and to my surprise, my parents aren't home. "No one's home it seems." I say. "What time will they be back?" Munro asks. "Probably around 8 o'clock." I answer, happily. "That's good. It's almost 4:00 now." I search through my messenger bag for my house key and unlock the front door. "Cool key." "Thanks." It's a cheetah print key I've had since forever.

We enter through the front door and make our way towards my bedroom. "Woah, what's with all the paintings?" He asks, glancing at each, one by one. "My mom loves paintings and carved frame-work." I say. "That's nice," he says. "Where's your bedroom?" "This way." He follows me through the hallway towards a dark cherry colored door. I open it and his eyes open with surprise. "Yasmine, your bedroom is beautiful." He says. Glancing at my clear glass vanity, cheetah print sofa, golden headboard and gothic black chandelier. One thing in particular seems to catch his eye. My keepsake box. A porcelain floral box with gold trim. "What is this?" He asks. "Just a place to store my drawings, birthday cards, and some movie tickets." I say. "It's so pretty. I like how the sun hits it." The sun reflects off my box through my window and makes it look like it's glistening. "Come here." He says, slowly. I walk towards him and he holds me tightly and kisses me softly.

Moments later, I gasped for a breath. We stare into each other's eyes for a few seconds as he pulls me forward and holds me tightly. "Do you want to be my girlfriend?" He asks. "Yes," I say. "I would love that." "Great. I'll buy you the most beautiful piece of jewelry one day for you to keep in that box." "Oh no, I have a jewelry box." I reach towards my vanity for a black velvet box and I open it to show him my precious gems and jewels. "Woah. Sapphire, ruby, amethyst. These are all beautiful." "Thank you. I keep my pearls, diamonds and gold in a clear glass box in my dresser." "Well, I'll buy you the most beautiful Topaz ring since you're a Scorpio." He says. "Thank you. When is your birthday?" I ask. "April 13. I'm Aries." "How lucky, your birthstone is the diamond," I say. "Quite unlucky actually. I was born on the 13th." "I'll be your good luck charm." I say, smiling big. "Hey you have cute dimples." "Thanks."

I move towards my cheetah print single seater sofa and relax. "I think I want to write the thankful poem for Mr. Rivers class." I say, grabbing my messenger purse. "Oh, yeah. Right. Homework. You get started on your poem, I'm gonna text Sean and Violet. I want to know if they have any updates on the fire. My dumb phone isn't showing me the news updates." "Mkay." I say "I hope the fire dies down. You know I knew Vladimir when I was a kid." "Wait, what?! You know him?!" "I think so. Vladimir Resendez? He lived in my hometown Ocarina and we went to elementary school together. He was a pretty messed up kid." "How so?" "He had anger issues. One time he twisted my arm and it left a mark." "Oh I'm gonna twist his-" "Stop. He has problems. Don't worry, his mom apologized to my mom and said he was going to take anger management classes." "At that age? What else did he do that was bad?" "He would throw temper tantrums in class a lot." "We have to find him before he burns down more stores." "You go, I'm gonna work on my poem. I already missed half of my classes for the day that I need to make up," I say. "I'm not gonna leave you here alone when he's out there somewhere causing chaos."

"Ding-ding," my phone lights up with a new message from Violet.

New Message 4:28pm From Violet:

"The fire stopped burning and Vladimir finally got caught. Call me for the details." "Call her right now." I say, concerned.

"Beep.. beep.. Beep.. Hello?" Violet answers the phone quickly. "Okay guys I think Vladimir has the same power as me. He was the one who killed Mr. Ronnie. He turned invisible and sneaked into his classroom right before Munro was going to tell him he wasn't going to make it to class." "What?!" Munro screams in shock. "He can be anywhere by now," He says. "No. He got caught and he's in handcuffs right now. He started the fire too." "But can't he just make himself invisible again and escape?" "No. He can only do that when no one knows, but Sean and I found out. He has the spider mark on his wrist. I saw it. You see, he wasn't born with that power. He used evil black magic to obtain it." "Hmm. Okay then. This is all too much. It's almost 6 o'clock and I need a nap." Munro says. His eyes start to close as he sighs and lays down on my bed. "We'll talk to you later Violet." "Bye."

Hmm. I think I will start my thankful poem now that he's asleep.

Mr. Rivers English 101

October 06

I am thankful

For what I don't see

In this world

Filled with

Catastrophe

I am thankful

For what I

Can't hear

Like all the danger

That's near

I am thankful

For the places

I don't go

And for the faces

I haven't known

I think my poem came out pretty nice. It's kind of an opposite poem. I'll read it to Munro as soon as he wakes up. Hmm, now I think I need a nap also. I feel a little sleepy...
