Meeting New People

Soon, the two arrived in the main hall, and Ruby met up with Yang.

"Hey, sorry about that," said Yang, "My friends just caught me by surprise, and well, I was just dragged along for the ride. So, how's your first day going sis?"

Well, said Ruby, I met a boy named Jaune. He was in quite a predicament. Don't tell anyone about this. In our heads.

Oh, that secret, huh? asked Yang in her head.

Ruby then explained Jaune's lack of experience, and why he was here.

Wow, he's had it hard, hasn't he? asked Yang.

Yeah, said Ruby, best look out for him.

Just then, Ozpin came in and made an announcement.

"Ahem," he said clearing his throat, "I'll make this brief, you all have traveled here today in search of knowledge. To hone your craft and acquire new skills. And when you have finished, you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of the people. But when I look amongst you, I see wasted energy. In need of purpose, direction. You assume knowledge will free you of this but your time here at this school will prove knowledge can only carry you so far. It is up to you, to take the first step."

Glynda then said, "You will gather in the ballroom tonight. Your initiation begins tomorrow."

"He seemed kind of off," said Yang.

He's just that way, mysterious to all except me, said Ruby.

"Yeah, you can see everyone's secrets," said Yang, "Kinda wish I could read minds."

Somethings are better left unknown Yang.

After the announcement, Ruby was by herself, just standing on a small hill, eyes closed, and breeze blowing through her hair and cape. She felt at peace here. No one was around her, or talking to her. It was bliss.

Don't get her wrong, she loves Yang, but she can be a bit much at times.

However, the peace was cut short, by a voice saying, "Excuse me?"

Ruby's smile turned into a frown, and she turned to see a white haired girl with her hair in a side ponytail, a white combat skirt, and hedge heel boots.

"What are you doing?"

Taking in the peace, said Ruby.

Weiss stepped back, and asked, "How did you do that?!"

Telepathy, said Ruby, Now buzz off.

The girl then said, "HOW DARE YOU?! DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM!?"

The daughter of the man who made my life a living hell.

"I'm nothing like him!"

Really? Because you're yelling and judging someone you don't even know!

"I am not! It's just barbaric! Standing here, like a dunce! Who does that?"

People who want a life, away from Atlas, Weiss!

Weiss snorted, "No one speaks to me like that! I am a Schnee!"

And I am Ruby Rose! But there is another name I think you'd know me better by!

"And what's that: Filthy Faunus?!"

Mewtwo.

Weiss stepped back. She had seen everything that everything on the news that day, and remembered it.

"Oh my... I... I'm so sorry, I-"

Ruby just teleported away, and Weiss stepped back. She knew she had just harassed one of her father's victims.

Soon, Ruby appeared in a different area, and scared a near by person, who dropped her book.

Oh, sorry, said Ruby.

"It's oka-"

The person paled at the sight of Ruby, and Ruby realized who it was: it was Blake.

Blake, said Ruby, What are you doing here?

Blake crawled back, and Ruby then said, It's okay. I trust you. I've seen your memories.

"Y-Your words stuck with me for some time," said Blake, "and I... I wanted to do something right now, instead of staying with them."

Ruby smiled, Good for you. I just hope Adam changes before it's too late.

Blake then sighed, "I think it's too late for him."

Ruby then looked at her, and said, If you'd like, I can be your friend. Someone to talk to if you need to.

Blake smiled, and said, "Thank you Ruby, or, is it Mewtwo?"

Ruby frowned, I hate that name. It's the name that bastard Jaques Schnee gave me the moment he bribed those scientists.

"What do you mean?" asked Blake.

Ruby turned to Blake, and touched her forehead, showing her memories from earliest years, and from her mother.

It was 12 years ago, when my mother had just learned she couldn't have a baby. However, General Ironwood had a favor he owed my father, so he used it. And through genetics, I was created with the DNA from my parents. However, fate had other ideas for me. That Jackass' company had discovered fossil remains of Mew, the ancestor of all Faunus, and wanted to create a genetic weapon with it, but Ironwood wouldn't fund it, and he couldn't get the proper equipment. So, he bribed the scientists with cash, and added the Mew DNA into me. And, I was made into a Human/Faunus Hybrid. I have the blood of humans, but the looks of a Faunus, all because of him.

Just then, a voice made it's presence known, and the two turned to see Weiss.

What do you want Schnee?

"I... just wanted to apologize for my prejudice earlier. I want to be a better person, and I think I need to put my father's teachings behind me. I am truly sorry, from the bottom of my heart."

Blake just scoffed, and Ruby said, I accept. I can sense that you are truly sorry.

"What?" asked Blake.

She's wants to clear her family name. And she has her mother's good heart. By the way, what happened to Jaques?

"He's been put under arrest, and despite his best efforts, word got out to the press, and he was thrown out of the company, and Mother currently is in charge, like she should have been from the start."

"Wow, you're making friends already sis."

The three looked to see Yang.

Hey Yang, said Ruby.

"Wait, you're sisters?" asked Blake.

Same dad, different mom, said Ruby, Biologically speaking.

"Yeah, I never met my birth mother," said Yang, "And honestly, I don't think I want to. Summer Rose has been my real mother for as long as I can remember."

You know what would be funny? asked Ruby, If we all ended up on the same team.

"Well, initiation will decide that," said Blake.

"Wow," said Weiss, "It's already 6. I think we should get some dinner before the mess hall closes."

The four girls all talked with each other, as they headed towards the hall. And they all felt like friends now.

Meanwhile...

In the Grimm Lands, there was a little creature, just awakening after many years of slumber, and said a single word.

"Mew."
