After stepping out into the bright and early morning, adorned in nothing but a purple and lavender otter onesie. Luz excitedly steps forth outwards onto the street pavement which leads directly to the portal shack. The trip being a only measly 30 seconds to make it to the door of the shack. She takes in a big breath of the fresh morning air, and exhales. "Why do I feel so... So nervous!? Pull yourself together Luz! She's been your girlfriend for almost a full year now!" Before opening the door. She hesitates but for a moment to collect her thoughts and to prepare herself. She finally musters the courage to open the door and step through, being greeted by the familiar voice of the collector as she is taken to the demon realm in the blink of an eye. On the other side is the alien yet comforting and familiar sights of the boiling isles. The red grass and trees sway in the soothing wind while the purple seas boil and sway with the tide. Only taking a moment to take in her surroundings, Luz becomes puzzled. Where had Amity gone? She would have had to have been on the other side of the portal if she was to text Luz on her earth phone. Before Luz could even begin to think of an explanation for Amity's absence she feels a hand plant itself upon her shoulder.
"Boo! hehehe!" Amity blurts out at Luz from behind her.
"GAH!" A startled Luz falls onto the ground on her rear.
Amity's giggles turn into howls of laughter as she bears witness to the reaction Luz gave her little scare prank. She almost finds herself falling onto the ground alongside Luz as her chest begins to hurt with laughter. Luz finds Amity's laughter very contagious so she cannot help but laugh back at the overreaction she put on display. She eventually finds her footing after receiving a helping hand from Amity, who lifts her back onto her feet and dusts her back off.
"I'm so sorry Luz I don't know what came over me. I just HAD to!"
"It's okay Ammy, but mark my words. I will be getting you back for this" Luz teases.
"Well, I will await that day Noceda... I will await it"
The two Sapphic's stand and giggle amongst themselves before an awkward silence is formed. They both stand and look at each other, Amity is the one that ends up breaking the silence.
She reaches out to Luz with both of her arms and tilts her head to the side. "May I have a cuddle?" She asks gently.
"You don't have to ask me twice!" Luz declares to the witchlet as she jumps into her loving embrace.
Luz buries her face into Amity's shoulder, taking in all of her. Her scent, her warmth and her softness. Such pleasing sensations causes Luz to nuzzle her face into Amity's shoulder in delight.
"I've missed you so much mi amor... I know it's only been a week but I've missed you so, so much" Luz laments to Amity.
She felt needy for saying that. But why? It's her girlfriend, she should be able to feel excited to see her again after some time apart. But now she feels as if she should feel bad or ashamed of growing attached to one of her many sources of comfort and love. She tries to brush off the feeling because if anything, she hates making Amity feel worried for her.
"I missed you too!" Amity smiles and plants a gentle kiss on Luz's head. She also begins to take in Luz. Stroking her soft and fluffy brown hair, playing with her hair and twirling it around in her fingers. If there was anything that she absolutely loved, it would be making Luz feel physically and mentally comforted by her presence. Luz was her EVERYTHING and she felt that she owed Luz her life for helping her change hers and find herself. But ever since that fateful night where she and Luz officially asked each other out, she had always doubted that she would ever be able to fulfil her end of what she owed to Luz for essentially saving her.
"Amity?" Luz calls out to her. Amity clearly being zoned out in her thoughts
"Huh? What's up?"
"You okay batata?"
"Yeah I'm fine! Just zoned out a little haha"
"You sure?"
"Yeah of course!"
They both share in a gentle kiss on each others lips that lasts a good 5 seconds.
"So how have you been Luz? Do anything cool this week?" Amity asks.
"Oh nothing really aside from school stuff, student burnout and doing some art stuff"
As soon as Luz finishes her sentence she feels as if she is missing something. Something important to her. Then the thought hits her
"Oh damn! I forgot to make you a drawing this morning before I saw you cause I was procrastinating too hard! I'm sorry mittens!" Luz frantically apologises to Amity.
"Hey, hey. Don't stress Luz it's okay! You don't have to make me a drawing every time you see me, I know how much time and effort you put into them. And they look so gorgeous because you take your time! Art can't be rushed my sweet" She reassures her.
The two finally headed for the portal and entered into the human realm. After making it over to Luz's place, they entered in quietly as to not wake up Camila and Vee. Once inside, Luz went to take her toast out of the toaster only to see that it was pretty burnt. Luz didn't let it get her down though and she opted to still spread the hazelnut spread on her charred toast.
"Looks a little burnt Luz?"
"Oh yeah I may have burnt it just a teensy tiny bit hehe" She sarcastically remarks about the state of her toast. She crunches down on her very overcooked toast, getting crumbs all over her onesie and getting the hazelnut spread all over her mouth.
"Whoopsh" Luz mumbles as she dusts the crumbs off her onesie.
"I've only just noticed that you are still wearing your onesie Luz"
"Oh yeah I am, sorry I didn't have time to dress I came to the portal as soon as you texted me"
"Don't be sorry! I think you are super cute in the onesie"
A soft pink blush spreads across Luz's face. Moments like those make Luz feel better about herself. Knowing that despite her own worries, Amity really does love her and care for her.
"Your making me blush staaaahp!" She whines to Amity, joking having a toddler temper tantrum at her and gently patting her shoulders with little taps.
"Would you like some breakfast too Amity?"
"Oh I hate to be a both-"
"YOU ARE NOT A BOTHER AMITY" Luz screams out loud, cutting Amity off from putting herself down. Luz comes to immediately regret her volume and cusps her hands over her mouth.
"I forgot mom and Vee were sleeping..." She groans.
