Chapter 4

As you go about your day, Cody couldn't help but think he should have accompanied you. He is your guardian now but he didn't want to appear overbearing. However, he knows that the townspeople know the guardians, so the chances of being mistaken for a stalker are slim. With that thought in mind, Cody returns to Hoseok's Magic Shop. Hoseok is tidying up when Cody walks in. "Ah, there you are, Cody! How's your first day as a guardian going?" Hoseok asks, noticing Cody's vibrant energy. "It's been good so far, but I'm worried about Y/N," Cody admits. "That's a common feeling for a new guardian," Hoseok reassures. Cody takes on his physical form and sits down with Hoseok. "What do you mean?" He asks. "I mean that it's natural for guardians to feel protective over their cilent. But you're doing a great job, Cody," Hoseok affirms. Cody sighs. "Do any guardians ever wish they were back at the Magic Shop?" 

"Of course! It's rare for clients to decide to sever ties with their guardian and move on," Hoseok explained. Cody's heart sank at the thought of parting ways with you. "But there's no way Y/N would do that... Right?" "Right now? Sure, they can. But I don't think your client wants to let you go anytime soon." Cody breathes a sigh of relief. "Anyways, you should go. Your client must be worried about you." "I'm more worried about my client!" Cody pouts. Hoseok chuckles and leads Cody outside. Cody turns into his energy form and heads back to Y/N's home. 

Your guardian decides to tidy things up at your home and make some food. Guardians, as beings of light, do not require regular food intake but they do need sleep. Their source of energy stems from the positive energy they receive from their clients, which they reciprocate by delivering more positivity. This mutual exchange ensures that both guardians and clients maintain healthy relationships without getting drained. However, there are rare situations where a client may request their guardian to become human, which is irreversible as the guardian can no longer exist as a creature of light. Suddenly, the door opens. You go over to the couch, exhausted from today's tasks. Cody closes and locks the door. "Hey Y/N, how was your day?" Cody asked as he teleports over to your side. "Well, I got all my work done... I need some rest." "Did you eat anything?" You shake your head and put your bag down. All you want to do right now is sleep, but your guardian won't let this go. 

So, he picks you up and sits you on a chair in the dining room. Then, he pushes your chair in, and hands you a plate of your favorite food. "Cody... You did this for me?" "Of course I did, sweetheart. I even tidied up the place for you." He caresses your face gently, making your cheeks heat up. Did he just call you sweetheart? "Now eat up, then you can take some rest." You take a bite of the food Cody prepared. You're not sure what to make of it at first, but then... You're hit with a flavor explosion! Your eyes sparkle. Cody smiles and pats your head gently. A few minutes later, you finish your food and wash the dishes. Then you head over into your bedroom and pass out on the bed. Your guardian closes the bedroom door, then goes over to your bag. He picks it up, takes out the empty lunch container, and washes it in the sink with the utensils you used. Then, he hangs your bag on a hook in the living room. 

Sitting on the couch, your guardian's mind starts to wander. He wants to be around you more, to protect and take care of you. But there's a fear in his heart that started to take over when he was assigned to you. The fear of losing you. What if one day, you didn't want him anymore? What if he became too over-protective?  All these questions and more started to fill up your guardian's mind. No. He wasn't going to let you go. Not now, not ever. He doesn't care if he becomes over-protective, this is his mission. He is a guardian, your guardian. He'll sacrifice himself if he has to. If a guardian happens to die, they will respawn back at the Magic Shop unscathed. However, if there happens to be any damage to the brain, your guardian's memories will reset. If the guardian is in very severe condition, they will be fully reset. You would have to call them again using the Wish Tea. 

Cody gets up and teleports over to you. He kneels to your eye level and pushes the hair out of your face. He could tell your energy was drained, so he does the one thing he knows how to do best. Your guardian gets into bed with you. He knows he shouldn't do this, but this was the only way he could deliver his positive energy to you. Cody wraps his arms around your waist and pulls you to his chest. Your guardian unleashes his energy, allowing it to swirl around the two of you as his eyes start to close. You feel a strange warmth engulf you. His gentle touch made you feel safe. Cody's energy creates a ring, tightening around your body. Your energy was starting to restore, all according to plan...
