Day and Night and the Ritual

Ch. 5: New Facility

Nadia and Holly raced into the room where Night and Day were. Nadia grabbed Night's cage which was now on wheels and pushed it, Holly followed her with Day's cage. "Where are you taking us?" Day demanded. Night looked around scared. There was a boom noise and a beam fell, just missing them. "We are being attacked, so we are escaping!" Holly cried over other boom noises. Holly and Nadia pushed them through and soon joined a stream of people, who were ages 13-25. Some were holding cages, or pushing some like Holly and Nadia, some had some kind of wheelbarrow with plants that were extremely rare, beautiful, and magical. Some were carrying animals, like cats, little puppies, and even baby foxes. They streamed down a ramp into some kind of subway station. Older people around 25-36 were helping those who were wounded. Nadia rolled less quickly, with Holly matching her pace. The younger children, around 2-9, were crying and staying close to their parents or older sisters, or brothers. "The train is coming!" A male called. "Wait! Let Nadia and Holly go in first, then the others who have important specimens, then the younger children with their parents or older siblings, then the rest." The one who seemed to be in charge yelled, he was around 46, and had a daughter of his own, she was 8 and holding his hand with a pink blanket and a teddy bear in her other hand. Nadia and Holly wheeled Night and day into the train and put them in a row of seats, then sat down holding on to the cages so they didn't knock over. Others who wheeled in other creatures, like Kitsune foxes, Shoe dogs, (Some poisonous dog) Diamond shoe wolves,(They were wolves that had diamonds instead of fur, with blue eyes, white strong teeth, and sometimes wings, they were not poisonous like the Shoe dog however) Other dragons(Including fire dragons, leaf dragons, water dragons, every type you can imagine except other Sun and Moon dragons), there were even a few Horesses(Dragon body with purple scales, dragon wings with purple scales, and golden-brown feathers, back legs were phoenix or eagle talons, tail was a phoenix tail, they had a long neck like a snake that was filled with purple scales, with orange phoenix feathers at the top, and yellow feathers on the throat, with a crocodile snout that was silver, snakelike eyes, and horns of a dragon.) most of them they brought in the train were shrunk ones, or were just a smaller breed, the larger ones were in cages that were in a large train car, there were many other creatures that were brought in or were in the back with the larger animals, some plants where brought in. Finally, the children and their parents or older siblings came inside and filled seats. Soon the rest came in and filled every last seat in every cab. The train started to move, and it sped up. "I can't belief the building was under attack!" A girl said to her friend behind Nadia and Holly. Nadia and Holly knew her as Ranya Agarwal, she was from India, with beautiful light brown skin, that seemed to gleam in the light, she had straight glossy black hair, and she often wore Indian clothing, except when she was told to wear her lab coat, she worked in the greenhouse, that had magical birds, and plants living there. She was talking to Anja Achen, whose family came from Germany, she had tanned skin, with black strait hair that was to her shoulders, she had grey eyes, and usually wore a lab coat, she worked with magical animals. Nadia and Holly were friends with the two. "Hi Ranya! Hi Anja!" Nadia said with glee. "Omg! Nadia, Holly! We of course knew you were alive, but we didn't realize we sat behind you." Ranya said, she was holding a cage that held a very rare bird, that Nadia had no clue what it was called. The bird was a light blue/green, with darker colors on some places, it had something behind its head, like a triceratops had, except their where 2 large holed either side, they had orange becks, yellow talons, and they had feathers on their wings, and fur everywhere else. "Did you hear that Vinnie Beck was killed from a heavy beam falling on her?" Anja asked. "No." Nadia said shaking her head. "I never really liked her, but that death sounds awful!" Holly exclaimed. "Emory Blake also died, she was trying to help young children out of a room that had the door jammed, she opened the door, and they ran out thanking her, but before she could get out, a bunch of rubble and stuff fell on her from the ceiling and killed her, I know because I was there." Ranya said looking down at her feet. "Poor Emory." Nadia said her eyes filling with tears. Emory Blake was 15 and she was Nadia's best friend other than Holly, Ranya, and Anja. Night and Day squirmed in their cages. "Oh! The sun and moon dragons!" Ranya exclaimed. Anja looked at them from where she was sitting. She had a cage on her lap with a leaf/nature dragon, a baby. "Her name is Yvette, I named her myself!" Anja burst with pride. Yvette was the same age as Day and Night, maybe younger. Yvette had two long and narrow leaved coming of her head with a daisy at the end of both long leaves, on the left one there is a daisy in front of it, between the long leaves were daisy petals, down her back was lighter green leaves, and daisy petals, to her tail, she had a leaf symbol on her forehead, and a daisy on her chest. She had green eyes, with a dark green reptilian pupal, she also had dark green eyelashes. Night saw Yvette through a crack in the seats. He thought she was beautiful; however Day didn't seem to have an opinion of her. "So, your Night and Day?" Night and Day heard in their minds, at first, they thought someone was talking to them, but they realized Yvette was talking in their minds. "Yes, that is who we are." Night thought to Yvette. "Do you know what they are up to?" Yvette asked to them through their minds. "We are moving buildings, duh!" Day thought to them. "No! I know that! I mean with you guys." Yvette thought to them. Day rolled her eyes as Yvette talked to them. "We have no clue!" Day thought to Yvette and Night. "Me neither sadly." Yvette thought to them with a sigh. Soon the baby dragons fell asleep and shared a dream that was sent by Ashia.

Day, Night, and Yvette were standing with Ashia. "I am sorry to call a meeting, but I would like to talk to you, this is very hard for me." Ashia said. "Who are you?" Yvette asked. "I should ask you the same." Ashia said to her. "I am Yvette." Yvette said and scooched towards Night. Ashia got angry at her but didn't show it. "I know what they want Night and Day for, also Day it's nice to meet you, I am Ashia." Ashia said respectively. "Ok, spill it out!" Yvette said, she has been wanting to hear the reason since she heard from Holly, that Night and Day were captured. "There is this ritual that will happen next moon, it will release the strongest, evilest creature of all time!" Ashia explained. "But why would they do that? Aren't the Moon and Sun dragons strong enough on their own?" Yvette asked shocked. "They need less than even a quarter of their power to free a creature that is by far, stronger than them." Ashia said looking down. "But why couldn't this creature free himself?" Day asked. "It is hibernating, but when it wakes up when all the planets align it wouln't be strong enough to escape the realm it had been put, it needs some the Sun and Moon dragons' power to escape. But what the organization doesn't know is that, this creature will gobble anything in its sight, it will not follow orders from anyone." Ashia answered. Yvette stared at Ashia; pure terror filled her eyes. Day scooched closer to her brother. "I don't want to free this creature, this...this monster! I want it to stay where it is!" Day cried. "Everyone does." Ashia said lowly. Ashia's face turned pale. "What's wrong?" Night asked. "Power is.... growing.... weak...... Have to... talk some other...time." Ashia said sweating. Suddenly the dream broke, and the dragons woke up.

Day and Night woke the train had stopped. The man from earlier, the 40 year old, who was the one who wanted to free the creature got up, carrying his daughter. He let Nadia and Holly go out first, rolling Night and Day along. "This will probably not be the last time we'll have to relocate." The boss said to Nadia, Holly, and the rest. Night and Day realized he was probably right. The boss went out and started assigning rooms at once, the first was the room where Night and Day was to be put in, only Nadia, Holly, Anja, and Ranya were allowed inside, but Anja and Ranya could only be in there when Nadia or Holly were in. Night looked his last look at Yvette inside her cage before he and Day were rolled into their new captured facility. Nadia and Holly stayed in until their rooms were ready. When they left Night and Day felt alone. Night missed Yvette and Ashia.
