Day and Night and the Ritual

Ch. 9: A Room

Day woke up and stared over at Night in the other cage. They were hitting a growth spirt, like humans would have, the cages were too small. Day roared smally. Wilhelm came into the room with Holly and Nadia. Nadia and Holly grabbed the cages but covers over them and wheeled them somewhere. Nadia and Holly took of the covers and revealed a room that had a bunk bed, and some dragon beds. Wilhelm approached them. "Dis will be your new room," Wilhelm said in his thick German accent, "You will be out of your cages and stay in here with Nadia and Holly." Day and Night looked at each other as Wilhelm left. Nadia let Night out carefully as Holly let out Day. "Welcome to your new room." Nadia and Holly said then looked at each other. Day and Night looked around at the big room. Dragon toys were out for them. Night and Day flew around the room and dived at the toys. They didn't notice the door opening or Anja and Rayna come in. Anja carried a cage that had Yvette inside. "Thank you for agreeing to let Yvette stay with you guys and Night and Day." Anja said with a smile and let out Yvette. Yvette bounded out towards Night and Day. Anja and Ranya said goodbye then left. Night spotted Yvette then pounced on her and started to roll around with her. Yvette pinned Night to the ground. "Pinned ya!" Yvette exclaimed. Night pushed her off then started rolling and playing with her again. Holly headed to a desk where she started typing down on a computer in Word. Nadia walked over and looked at the screen. "Don't forget how they look like." Nadia said. Holly nodded then typed more. Nadia looked back at the dragons who were fast asleep beside each other on the 3 dragon beds (The third was brought when Anja and Ranya dropped off Yvette). She smiled and looked back at Holly's screen. Holly kept gently typing in Word about her research. Nadia pointed at a word she had spelled, or so Word thought. Nadia got out her phone, she had gotten a text from her mother that said, "You can't come for Christmas? Why? You missed out on Thanksgiving.... I don't want you to miss out on Christmas as well..." Nadia said and typed out a response, "I'm sorry I am just so busy with all of my research, but I'll ask Wilhelm if we could do Facetime or something." She sent it and waited for Wilhelm to accept her request to send it to her mother. He allowed her to send it since she was careful what she said and said "Research," instead of explaining what it was. After a while her mom sent a response, "Alright, have fun with your research, and be friendly with your new Roommate Holly." Nadia shook her head with a smile and turned off her phone and put it into her pocket. Holly fell asleep at her desk when she was writing her research. Nadia scooched over and shook her head, Holly was bad at pressing the words that word said was wrong, with a red squiggly line, or with grammar with a blue squiggly line, she was a great scientist, but she was awful at spelling and grammar, but so was Nadia. Nadia corrected all of the words and smiled nodding her approval. She read Holly's research and nodded at all her friend's close analyses. She closely looked at the dragons after reviewing her friend's work. She closely observed what they looked like, how their scales felt, how their horns felt, even their tails. Nadia noticed all of their horns were different, Day's was like a bighorn sheep's that twirled, Night's was more like a demon or devil's horn, and Yvette, had no horns but two soft wavy green ribbon like things that swayed in the wind. She also noted their scale colors and other stuff. She looked out the window after she felt done. It was dinner time. Nadia woke Holly up and they left the room to go to dinner.

Day woke to an empty room, other then her, Night, and Yvette, but Nadia and Holly were gone. "Where did they go?" Day asked Yvette. "They went to get dinner." Yvette answered. "What about us?" Day asked. "When they get back, they will give us food." Yvette answered. Day shrugged and laid back down waiting to be fed. After an hour or so they heard Nadia and Holly talking as they came in. They gave the dragons some chicken and some vegetation. Yvette ate leaves, berries, and chickens, while Day and Night mostly ate meat, maybe some berries. "I hope the food is to your liking. Dalia Hammer cooked and made it hard." Nadia said with a smile as she turned on the lights. Day, Night, and Yvette growled their complements to the chef as they finished their food. Nadia and Holly took turns going to the bathroom and changing into pajamas. After they both finished, they went in bed and waited for Madam Lina or Madam Hasina to turn out their lights. Soon one of them came and turned out the lights then Nadia, Holly, and the dragons quickly fell asleep.
