1932-1933

The elusive first year.

Star (still known as Annaliese) is ignored upon entrance to Slytherin, and bonds with Anemone over this.

Victoria, de-facto leader of Slytherin, takes notice of Star and decides to test her.

Leads Star to do a mysterious ritual, which yields unexpected results. Star conjures a burning ball of light/magic, like a particularly small star. (Hence the nickname, a symbol of her sudden and quick social climb)

Ritual measures magical/overall potential?

Star = COMPLETELY clueless and VERY confused

Victoria takes Star under her wing, eventually growing fond? of Star, but like, secretly

Winter break, Victoria introduces Star to "Lya"

Fall 1935

(Ch 10B) Anemone is back! Star and her make up, but, *gasp* Anemone has ulterior motives...

Over the next few chapters, Anemone (subtly) drops hints to Star that Vanessa's actually a werewolf.

Anemone's goal (take Vanessa out of the picture) fails. Star and her aren't friends (again) and she get to have a little villain arc for the next couple years.

Winter 1935

(Ch 11) Skip to winter break. Star has been spending her free time with "Lya" (mentioned in "Correspondence" and "Twin Terror").

Full name Olympia, owns a shop down Knockturn Alley, is teaching Star how to duel

Also introduces Caua Rendon, a harpy from America and Olympia's assistant

Star's mom has suspicions: leading to the following scene:

"Mom, I'm going to Diagon. I'll see you later," I said, slipping on a pair of open-laced shoes.

My mother turned towards me from her spot at the coffee table, her face set into pinched suspicion. By now, this particular dance had become intimately familiar.

"I'm just going to see some friends," I reassured, just as I had the previous day, and the one before that, and the one before that...

She sighed, turning back to the table and continuing to sort through the pile of letters that sat there.

"Be back by eight—and don't forget to take a scarf with you this time."

"Annaliese, be honest with me—are you seeing someone?"

I spluttered. "What- no!"

"Is it that boy down the street? What was his name- Brett?"

"I don't even know who that is!"

(Ch 12) Return to Hogwarts. William isn't there. Crew panics.

Spring? 1936

Confrontation between Star and Vanessa about the werewolf problem. Vanessa revealed to have been practising illegal blood magic.

"Oh good; I almost thought you'd found out about my illegal blood magic tomes!"

"What???"

"What?"
