Someone had hollered my name from behind me. The bubbly voice was one that was engraved in my mind. "Hey Karl." I reply with a smile, my eyes meeting his as he rushes to stand beside me.

"Someone recommended this app to me and it is so cool!"

My nose cringes in annoyance, "Don't tell me, it is that new app that you talk to someone virtually."

Silence. No reply.

"Karl? You're kidding!"

I only get a nervous giggle.

"Whatever. Just be careful, don't let it drown out your social life."

"I won't! But I honestly think you should download it too!" "Absolutely not."

"Aww! Why not?" Groaning with my iconic eyeroll, "Because I'd rather to actually socialize with people in the real world. Not some dumb AI."

I find myself often questioning why I am still friends with this man.

"Fine! But only if you stop talking about this!" The taller boy only pumped his fist up in victory. "It's called VFF!"

"VFF? Virtual Friend Forever? How original." I don't think they could have named this app any worse.

"My virtual friend's name is Sapnap! He's really cool! He just- gets mad when I don't anwer him within an hour."

"I thought AI's cant feel?"

"Well- he really can't feel, at least I don't think so? They try to give each character their own personality."

"Great, you're socializing with an arsonist."

"Whatever George." "Karl, you're just mad that I am right- like always."

With an eye roll, George shut off his phone. Not even wanting to deal with this new AI. George wandered off to his roommate, "Wilbur! Come deal with my AI! He's rude!"

Wilbur laughed as he had set his guitar down gently on his rack, "Oh? I thought you hated these AIS?"

George nodded, handing his phone to his friend, "Oh I do, deeply. But Quackity is an arse. You can deal with him while I make dinner."

"What are we having?"

"Chicken parmesan."

Wilbur pumped his fist in excitment, then sitting down on his office chair, his thumbs swiftly texting away. What an interesting night.
