"You know shithead I had pegged you out as having more guts than brains but to use your own body as bait? That really takes the cake; what the hell were you thinking?" Tayuya asked as she, Yugito and Naruto made their way through the village.

Naruto just shrugged, "it seemed like a good idea at the time".

Yugito sighed at that, "you're still a reckless idiot".

"Oh man I am starving; come on let's get some Ichiraku ramen," Naruto groaned.

"Does that mean you're paying?" Yugito asked him as they walked.

Naruto looked over his shoulder, "well I do have some money on me but...it might be a little close".

"Define a little," Yugito said with narrowed eyes. Fortunately he was interrupted when a pair of familiar ninja appeared through the crowd, "oh hey it's Shikamaru and Temari. Hey you two, over here. Look at who decided to show up at the front gates this morning".

"Naruto?" Shikamaru asked in surprise.

"Hey Shikamaru, are you two on a date or something," Naruto asked as he looked between him and the Suna nin beside him.

Shikamaru shook his head, "not even close".

"Oh please, like I would ever...it's almost time for the Chunin Exams again and since I'm the Suna ambassador I'm being forced to attend. This lazy bum is supposed to be my escort," Temari explained.

"Chunin Exams huh? I just finished my Jonin Exam this morning; I take it everyone else are Chunin now?" Naruto asked.

"Mostly though Neji, Lee, Yugito, Kankuro, this lady here and I are all Jonin now," the Nara explained.

"What about Gaara?" Naruto asked them.

"He's the Kazekage now," Temari was the one who answered.

"...Damn he beat me to it...oh well; I'll get there eventually," Naruto sighed at the information.

"So you understand what I'm asking of you?" Kakashi asked as he leaned back in his chair. The Hokage's office hadn't changed much except for the atmosphere in the room.

"I understand Hokage-sama," the Anbu standing in front of him responded.

"Then hand in your mask; while you are on the team your codename will be Yamato," Kakashi told him.

The Anbu removed his mask and placed it on the desk, "Yamato...an interesting name".

Knock Knock

"Come in," Kakashi called and the door opened. Naruto, Yugito and Tayuya entered a moment later, "you're late".

"Sorry, there was a black cat in the street so we had to take the long way around," Naruto said simply.

Kakashi eye-smiled at that with some kind of sunshine Genjutsu behind him, "ah so you finally met Sakuya-Chan".

Naruto blinked, "that was its name?"

Tayuya groaned as she watched the exchange, 'they're a pair of idiots'.

'You've left me with quite a job this time sempai,' Yamato sighed.

Yugito didn't comment, having already gotten used to them both.

"Anyway back to business," Kakashi coughed. "With Sasuke and Sakura...no longer with us I am assigning Yamato here and Tayuya to Team Naruto under your command Naruto".

Naruto nodded in understanding, "have you got a mission for us?"

Kakashi was about to speak when a commotion outside of the door drew his attention; a moment later the door burst open to reveal a slightly exhausted decoder-nin: Yurika.
