Daniella could not take her eyes off of it. Like a moth, the jewel drew him in towards a light, so much so her hand moved on its own to grab it."You seem interested in this replica sword," Thomas says, standing beside her. "We found that it was too light to be real, plus no one can unsheathe it. So, you are more than welcome to take it," he concludes, walking back towards her mom. Daniella goes back to the sword, finally picking it up. The first thing she noticed was how warm the handle was, and the heat pulsed underneath her hand like a too-hot coffee being passed to you at a coffee shop. However, Thomas was also right about the sword being lighter than it looked. It was definitely a long sword, as described in books she has read. It would look great on her bedroom wall, smiling to herself. Taking this opportunity to take the ring as well, putting it in one of her side pockets in her sun dress. As she was doing so, her mom was making piles out of clothes as she chatted away with the clerks and Thomas. Definitely, Regaling them with stories, probably. Her mom loved to repeat the stories to those who would listen. Yet she would have done it more when she wanted to if it wasn't for her therapist saying no.Daniella walks over now as well, "Wait, miss," says a clerk, who notices Daniella approach. "Do you, by chance, need a bag for the things you chose? Here," grabbing one of the bags from under the table. "This bag came with the things," the lady clerk smiles, handing over a big leather bag. Daniella graciously accepts, putting away the ring and putting the sword over her shoulder. Grabbing other clothing items and a small pouch. She opens it to reveal some old coins, which she immediately puts in the bag as well. Daniella suddenly remembers that she was trying to get to her mom and the others and looks up. Only to find that all of them were gone. Shock and urgency roar in her veins. Daniella was supposed to watch over her mom. Where did she go? Clothing her new bag, she made her way to the hall."Please wait," the female clerk called; they were the only ones in the room."I have to go find my mom. Where did she go?" Daniella asks, stopping in her tracks."Um, well," the clerk fidgets with her hands. "There was some release paperwork they had to fill out. You can wait here," the lady urges. Daniella raises a brow. Who was this lady in thinking she could try and stop her from going to find her mom?"No thanks, I will go find her myself," Daniella states, walking fast out the door and down the hall."Wait!" called the clerk, who seemed to have a vendetta about Daniella staying where she was and started to follow her.Daniella jogged down the hallway as she listened to her mom's voice."Oh wow, really!" Daniella hears from a room ahead and stops by the door."Yes, we are here to take you back, my Queen," said a man. Wait a minute, Queen? What was the meaning of that, as she peeked inside? No amount of preparation was enough for what she saw. Two tall men in what seemed like legit plated armour stood in the room with her mom and Thomas. But what was really leaving a chill down her spine was the blue swirl hole that was behind the two men. The blue hole was beyond any physics textbook she had read. Was it something like a black hole? No, the science fiction and fantasy books she has read told her mind that it must be a portal of some kind. Something this world had no evidence of ever existing. This could not be happening."After all this time, we were able to find you with the help of the staff here," one of the soldiers says, motioning to Thomas. "His Majesty has never stopped looking for you after you had to leave.""Well, I... don't know what to say. Has Lian really been looking," sentiment could be heard in her mom's voice. "The nobles actually agreed to the arrangement?" "Yes, after some tough negotiations, an agreement was set. Now if you would, please follow us back to Ezmodin. Your reign beside the King shall begin," finishes the first soldier, guiding her towards the portal. So they were going to take her! There were no papers to sign; they were trying to get Mom alone in order to follow these soldiers' commands. But what about her, Daniella realized? If she heard correctly, her father was called Lian and was somehow a King. This portal must also be real, and after 17 years of life in this world, they wanted to take her back. Not without me, they aren't. Daniella immediately burst open the doors, causing alarm on the occupants' faces."Oh Daniella, you here," Mom began, but the second soldier touched her shoulder."We must go now, your grace. An outsider has found us. You all take care of it," ordered the second soldier to Thomas, picked up her mom, and took her to the portal."Wait! She's not a threat. She's..." Mom began explaining, but they had already taken her through the portal."Mom!" Daniella screamed, running towards the portal without a second thought."Wait!" Thomas and the clerks rushed towards her. "You mustn't go. They only wanted her," Thomas began, but Daniella did not hear him with the red she was seeing. Pushing him and the clerks aside, Daniella enters the portal.A sapphire-coloured blaze blinded her when she entered. There was no floor, no up or down. Only some kind of hyper-speed-like force urging her forward. Grains that felt like sand bathed her. Luckily, she was still able to breathe. Daniella floated in it, unaware of what she should do next, let alone how these portals worked. Uncertainty spread through her chest. Was she even heading in the right direction? Would she land in the same place as his mom or not? One thing was for certain, Daniella was way over her head. Help. All she needed was some help to guide her. Suddenly, like an answered prayer, Daniella felt a gentle pressure against her lower back. Like a feminine hand aiding her along. Pushing her forward some more until everything went dark.
