"I'm back," MEIKO said, but realized that she was alone. She forgot many times after spying on Mizuki. How alone it was and quiet...she missed everyone's voices. She sighed. "Oh yeah, I forgot."
She didn't want this. She didn't want what her friends wanted: the exercise of power. They were meant to protect the hermits they were attached to and to protect hermit society, not petrify the world because they want to take control. They were right though, if they continued what they did, things would never change. But MEIKO wanted peace while the others wanted war. She looked at the huge hallway, Miku's room to Rin's room...Rin's room to Len's room, which the two both share that room...Luka's, Kaito's, Gumi's. Everyone's room just made her miss them more.
Will they ever come back? MEIKO thought. I can't stop them myself. I know I can't but I still choose to. We can't have another war...if we do then Mizuki and the others will...
She paused. Why am I so attracted to them anyway? I mean, Ena's annoying but misunderstood, Kanade is willing to help Mafuyu, who is also struggling through...something. But what is Mizuki here for? What is their purpose?
MEIKO clutched her fists. That's not important. I have to leave...but I won't leave until Mizuki opens their eyes. MEIKO left headquarters, stopping to take her balance scale with her and took off. But where she was going was not safe.
Mizuki's POV (omg finally right?)
I slowly opened my eyes but shut them again when a bright light from the window hit my face. Jeez, where am I? I sit up and felt an aching pain in my stomach, wincing.Bandages? Where's my hood? Am I wearing Ena's pajamas? Yes, I was. But how? I hope she didn't change me into them. Brushing my thoughts, I slowly left the bed despite still being in pain. I hurled a little before leaving the room and looking around. Wow, the cabin was empty. At least, I thought it was empty. I could sense another hermit in here...but where is it? I didn't trust my surroundings a lot but I wanted to find Ena. I hope Mafuyu was okay too, since we were both in that last situation. The last thing I remember is Mafuyu gasping as I felt severe pain and fainted.
Sounded bad and loud. I'm confused. My head began to hurt so I assumed I was close to this mysterious hermit. Was it Ena? No, I have a relieved pain when Ena is around. Probably Kanade. Was it MEIKO? I haven't seen her in a while...Ena's seen her more than I have.
I turned the corner and nothing was there. I sighed as I heard something outside. I stumbled to the door and opened it, looking around. Where could everyone be? I sighed, turning to go back inside until I saw MEIKO inside my house, which caused me to stumble back. She apparently heard me gasp and turned with wide eyes but the same blunt expression.
"Oh good. You're alive," she smiled a little. I nodded.
"Yeah...unfortunately."
"Don't get depressed. Let me help you up." MEIKO slowly helped me get to my feet. Wouldn't know if she knew, but I asked her if she knew where Ena and the others were.
"Yes and no, I know they went hunting or something but I don't know how far they went," MEIKO began to mess with her balance scale, putting little rocks on each side.
"Why are you here anyway?"
"I haven't been able to talk to you in a while. I've only been talking with Ena."
I smiled at the thought of Ena probably asking MEIKO a whole lot of questions during their encounters. "Well...since you're here, is there something you want to tell me? Because if not then I'll be the one asking questions!~" I smiled brightly and MEIKO turned her attention to me.
"Ask all the questions you want, I'll answer them. I might be here to tell you something because I immediately came here in thought," MEIKO glanced at me and then continued to play with her balance scale.
The more MEIKO spoke to me, the less harmful she looked. It seemed that she would answer my questions more than Ena's...why was that? I don't know why, I became a little shy all of a sudden. "Uh...well, you can start on your speech first."
"Okay, I'll try. I am still processing though so I might take slowly," MEIKO said, ignoring her balance scale now. I nodded and waited for her to speak.
"I'm not in a good position right now and because of that the world is falling apart and hermits are dying. I tried to work on it myself...but there's a attached relationship I have with you that I don't have with any other hermit and it caused me to only focus on you more than the world. I found out that it's pretty normal but...my friends aren't here to help with the world," MEIKO explained, slightly fidgeting. Is this what Ena was talking about? Seems like more information than what she told me.
"That's ironic. I thought you were attached to Ena," I smiled awkwardly.
"Ena's bothering and she wants answers but honestly I don't blame her. I pop up out of no where in your life and she can sense that I know a lot."
Sounds like Ena. "So...what? There's supposed to be more special hermits like you?"
"Not special. Hermits are hermits, none are special. We're just made to watch over specific hermits and all of them left to do...something," MEIKO frowned. "That's besides the point. To answer your question, yes there are more hermits like me. The whole purpose of first hermit is irrelevant and I'm only saying that because we all met when we only had each other. Then other hermits were born and they had decided to create some title."
"Then why did I get it of all hermits?" I laughed. MEIKO cracked a smile. "I don't know. Maybe because you have pink hair."
"Pink hair?"
"I'm teasing."
I smiled at MEIKO's attempt in teasing before blinking twice, back into reality. "Ena and the others haven't been back for a while..."
"Yeah. You're right. I only saw her talking about hunting to the Yoisaki hermit."
I started to panic. "Did something happen to her?! What if they all get hurt?!"
"Don't panic. I'll check on them for you and report back," MEIKO said before picking up her tip of her sword and swinging it to her palm. I scoffed.
"Report back? Can't I come with you?"
"No. You're still injured. You got shot about three times so you shouldn't even be standing." MEIKO dragged me onto the couch and forced me to sit.
"But if they are in trouble, I want to be there to help them!" I frowned. I knew that this was a reckless move, but I didn't want to be by myself either.
MEIKO sighed and helped me onto my feet. "Okay. I don't have the energy to stop you because either way you'll probably win, so let's go. I'll protect you."
"Thank you MEIKO~!" I teased before we headed outside. It was uncomfortable at first but she spent half of time helping me walk. I wonder if she gets bored of that?
As we walked, I began to think a little. More people like MEIKO...I wonder how they are like? What's their names? Oh! What skills do they have? Out of all the positive things I think, I had another thought. Why did they leave MEIKO in the first place?
