I've been planning a date for awhile now and haven't been able to get Bruce when he has time off. He's been super busy with baseball and with his parents. I've just been there at his games after work and he hardly even notices me right now, which I understand since he's stressed about college since he's in it for baseball. He's been trying to get into the state team and it's working pretty well but his grades are flopping since he's been playing more then studying and he's taking a major in Medical or whatever. I have a decent job at this business in town.
When I got home from work today I came into me and Bruce's small apartment to see him passed out on the table with a bunch of papers around him. I sigh and slide my shoes off before walking over to him. I carefully lift his head up, then pick him up into my arms. Once I've got him in a steady place I walk to our shared room. I lay him down and kiss his forehead "Try to sleep doll" I whisper as I rub my hand over his cheek. As I start to walk out I hear him "Vance- Vance wait.." I turn back around and go over to him "What's wrong.?" I whisper He grabs my hand "I need to study-" he says trying to stand up. I push him back down lightly "No bruce, you need sleep it's 11pm" "Mm I know good time for studying" he says I chuckle lightly and crawl next to him "Well if it here you need to sleep so just sleep ok?" I say as he curls into my arms. "Mm...fine" he says as I watch his eyes close and he's almost instantly asleep again I smile as I lay my head down as well and kiss his forehead again "Don't be stressed, you'll pass that test and I know it" I whisper I watch him lightly smile before mumbling words, like he normally does while asleep.
(That morning)
I wake up and look over to see Bruce gone "Yep, classes" "...again" I mumble as I sit up "I miss waking up to him.." I stand up and grab a sweatshirt I mind as well just go for a run since it's all I can do since I don't start work till 9. I walk out into the kitchen "Bruce?" He smiles at me "hey Vance! I've got plans today" I'm actually surprised "Plans? With who?" I say "You!" He says smiling even more now I smile to and walk up to him I wrap my arms around his waist and hug him "I missed you in the mornings" I mumble into his shoulder "Me to" he says as I feel him kiss my head "but our plans start at 8 and I called you out of work already" I look up "Wait really?" He nods "Now go put on the clothes on the dresser" he says crossing his arms I look at him then our room and practically run into our room. I look and for sure there's a set of clothes I didn't bother to notice before.

(What Bruce had set out) Huh, that's a lot different then what I normally wear- whatever he's taking me somewhere and that means I can use my date thing. I change into the clothes and walk out "Ooo you look nice!" Bruce says grinning at me I smile lightly "Yea?" "Yea!" He exclaims I sigh and slide my shoes back on "So it's almost 8, where's this at?" "No no, I'm driving" he says sticking his hand out "My car?" "Mhm" he says as I roll my eyes and drop the keys into his hand (Vance has a 2000s Dodge Challenger in black) He smiles and walks out This was my car from Bruces parents, they said my old one was ugly so they bought me this. I fucking love it and I do all the fixing it need and whenever it needs which Bruce loves to watch. As we walk outside I zone back in to Bruce talking "I love your car, it's so hot" he says laughing "Pfft my cats hot?" I say almost laughing "It really is" he says getting into the drivers side I get into the passenger side and listen as Bruce starts the loud car "Vance, you should get a better interior" "I'm not gonna change the car your parents gave me" "Well they don't care and it's just a plain grey in here, why not black and dark red?" He says Hm not a bad idea "Maybe" I say He hear bruce laugh and when I look at him he has a huge smile "We're almost there!" I smile slightly too I'm actually wondering what he was planning so He stop on the car on the side of the road "Hey Vance look at me" I turn my head and he wraps a bandanna over my face "What are you doing-" "This is a secret" he says laughing I smile as I lean back into the spot and he starts to drive again "Sooo is it super important that I can't know?" I say "Yep" he says I roll my eyes under the bandana as I feel the car come to a stop "Ok stay here I need to come get you out" I nod as I hear the door open and slam shut It's silent for a second then my door opens and I feel his warm hand grab my hand "Alright, just step out then I'll help you walk" I tap my foot around till I feel the ground and step out. He starts to pull me forward "Woah woah carful" I say laughing as I hear him lightly laughing too "Ok ok stay here" he says I nod "yea yea" I stand still for a minute then hear him come back "Ok one sec then you can take the blindfold off" I nod and heat him moving around "Ook andddd.... Now!" I put my hand up to my face and slowly take it off I open my eyes slowly too and see him on the ground infront of me "Bruce? The hell are you doing?-" He pulls out a box and I step back "Bruce your Fuckin Lying" He smiles at me "I know it was supposed to be date night and it still can be but" I look away as I start to laugh "Bruce-" I say He opens it and it's a ring either diamonds around it I cover my face and I sigh with a smile over my face "Vance hopper-" "Yes bruce" "Marry me?" I walk up to him and grab his hands and pull him up "Yes" I say as I feel a tear fall down my face He smiles at me "Don't cry Vance your gonna make me cry" I start to feel more and more tears fall down my face as he grabs my hand and slides the ring on it. He grabs my face and kisses me. I kiss back and wrap my arms around his shoulders He breaks it and looks at me "Date night now?" I laugh as I wipe my face off "Yea- yea we can do that" Bruce grabs my hand,pulls me to a big tree and under it is a blanket. "That's corny as fuck" I say before laughing and Bruce punched my shoulder "Oh shut up" he says smiling I sit down then pull Bruce on top of me He laughs a little and hugs his arms around my waist. "You know, your a lot less excited than I thought" "Oh shut up Bruce I'm happy, you know it's hard for me" I say laughing as I feel Bruce nod "Yea I know" he says smiling at me I look around and see this couple staring at us "The hell you looking at?" I say and Bruce picks his head up The couple continues to speed walk away "Jeez people are still assholes" Bruce says
I look at Bruce "Well whatever because I have you" Then we connect our lips Bruce wraps his arms around my shoulders "I love you vance" "I love you too Bruce"
