detective x family - HEIZOU.

A child and a wife.

Not a fitting job for a detective.

Not a fitting job for me...

Usually a more professional person in this area of work would be doing this. But as no one was available and this position was most unfitting to the actual spies, Detective Heizou was put on the job.

A perfect plan but perhaps not the perfect person.

Two years ago, Shikanoin Heizou (first known as Cyclone) was told to stay away from any outside social interactions and communications that weren't within his protection space. He was chosen to play the part in a mission, but no one could tell him what the mission was.

It simply didn't exist... until today. The day that Heizou also began to doubt his coworkers of their preparation and evidence-searching skills.

"I mean, just look at you, Cyclone. You already draw people in by your presence, it shouldn't be that difficult for you! Our other spies, however... I have little hope for them to even complete the first step."

Kazuha's words already had Heizou petrified of the job he was going to be given. "Me... a spy?? On my own? With a family??"

A fake family.

"I know, I know, but you're the best man I could ask. I know you can complete a mission long-term, remember two years ago when you and Ms. Kuki一"

"Yes, Mr. Kaedehara, I remember that. It's not working out the clues I'm worried about, I'm just a little uncertain of how I could play the part of a father."

"Ah, yes, right. Well, anything else you have doubts about?"

Heizou raised an eyebrow. "Not that I question your ability to collect the files, but... do you have any potentials in mind for this mission?"

"To be honest, not really," the ash-haired man sighed. "You're welcome to look through the files, however, if you'd like."

"This has been discussed with the rest of the crew, right?" Heizou asked as Kazuha placed the large stack of files in the center of his desk.

Kazuha smiled knowingly. "Yes, of course they have, and sworn to secrecy about it. I even had to write a contract for it..."

"I have a question, you don't have to answer. Am I not allowed to have one of my colleagues on this mission with me?"

Kazuha's eyes showed lack of confidence, which led Heizou to safely assume that he was to search for a child and wife who weren't affiliated with any of the agents. "Man alive."

The detective sat down and began to flip through files of potential recruits of this mission. This feels so awkward, he thought to himself, setting aside files he couldn't accept. A lady with no criminal record, no suspicious affiliations or jobs, a clean file? Considering the crime in this city, that'll be difficult for me to find.

Kazuha took a seat next to his colleague. "Try closer to the bottom of the files, Sara always flips through suspicious people first, so they'd be closer to the top. Priority clearly wasn't alphabetical."

Heizou nodded a silent thank-you and set the top chunk of files aside, beginning to look at much shorter, cleaner files. "Shoplifter... unfortunately much older... much younger... strange job... married and divorced twice..." While they were less conspicuous than the other choices, having any of these women as his wife would make him conspicuous.
