Tsukasa's girlfriend is a gorgeous girl that he met in high school, and Rui's girlfriend was also from his high school. The two of them never liked each other at first, but after seeing each other again, they started talking to each other and got closer. After Tsukasa confessed his love for her, she accepted him and they were going to get married soon, which made Rui jealous at first, but he felt happy for her. During their time apart, Rui was dating a girl who worked as an assistant teacher in his school, but ended up breaking up with her when he found out that she cheated on him.
Tsukasa and Rui were best friends, since they had the same hobby: music. While studying hard every day, they would listen to songs on headphones while reading sheet music together. One day, they discovered a new song by a band called "Sylvia" and became obsessed with it. The two of them would practice singing the song over and over until they finally mastered it.
During summer break, Tsukasa went to Tokyo to record a CD with Sylvia. On his way back home, he ran into Rui and invited him to their concert. The two of them were amazed by how talented the band members were, especially one of the musicians - a beautiful girl named Nene Kusanagi. Later on, after meeting another musician named Shizuku Hinomori, the four of them formed a band called "Four f4ced".
After starting a band together, Tsukasa and Rui began writing songs together. Eventually, they wrote a song using the names of all four members' girlfriends, and performed it during a live show. Afterwards, Tsukasa and Rui were shocked when Nene and Shizuku kissed each other on stage.
However, their shock quickly turned to joy after hearing about the news that Nene and Shizuku were now dating! Since then, the two of them started flirting with each other as well. Meanwhile, Tsukasa and Rui were still working hard to write more songs for their band.
One night, Tsukasa had a dream where he saw Rui naked. He woke up and immediately checked himself in the mirror to see if anything was wrong. However, nothing was out of place. He thought it might have just been a very realistic dream, but he couldn't help feeling like it was somehow important.
In reality, Rui had slept over at Tsukasa's house and they were both taking a nap. When they woke up, they realized that Rui was completely naked and that they hadn't locked the door before falling asleep.
The next morning, Tsukasa told Rui about his dream, but Rui didn't believe him. He said it must have been a dream brought on by fatigue or something else. Then, they started talking about another person that Tsukasa had dreamed about.
"What about my friend?" Tsukasa asked.
"Oh yeah... You're right."
"Hm? What about him?"
"I had a dream about him too!"
Rui and Tsukasa had many close friends, so this wasn't that unusual. They often shared their dreams with each other, and sometimes they'd even compare notes on what they dreamed about.
"Really? I had a dream about you too..."
"You did? About me?"
"Yeah."
Suddenly, Rui's eyes went wide and he looked at the ground shyly.
"Huh?! Wh-Wh-Wh-Wh-Why?!"
While Rui was blushing, Tsukasa tried to calm him down.
"Nothing. It's fine. We're just friends, after all," Tsukasa said, trying not to make him feel bad.
"Y-Yeah... Right..." Rui nodded, looking away.
