Ever wonder what it would be like to have the hottest boyfriend in your class? It can be bittersweet. I say this because as I was walking into the volunteer center he was working at, I noticed an increase of ladies who had developed a cold overnight and needed to be seen.

He worked beside a hospital bed and was feeling the neck of another student while talking to her. I should be angry or jealous, but why does he have to look so damn good in a lab coat? I wanted to rip the damn thing off his body, but if I ripped it off, everyone would see how good he looks in a white dress shirt and black dress pants.

Deep breaths, Tamsin.

"Girl, you look about ready to tear your man away from this place." Nina stood beside me.

I covered my face with my hands. "I know. I'm horrible. I shouldn't be jealous because he's my boyfriend, but what the fuck, why are there so many girls today. I can't handle it."

"Hm...maybe you need to get seen." Nina smirked as she dragged me all the way to the front of the line. Other girls protested when I cut the line, but didn't do anything to stop me.

I registered my information and stated my symptoms. Nina leaned over and looked over my writing.

She laughed. "Irregular heart rate and unexplainable emotional outbursts."

I bit my bottom lip to stop me from smiling. When my name was called, I hurried to the designated hospital bed. I watched as Kai finished his patient and moved on to pick up another clipboard. He skimmed through the contents while walking towards me.

He didn't look up as he read my symptoms.

"Irregular heart rate and unexplainable emotional outbursts. Are you experiencing any chest pain?" He looked up and saw me. His eyes widened and he smiled.

"Yes, right here." I pointed to my chest.

Kai chuckled before moving to close the curtains. He sat on the wheeling stool chair and scooted over to the edge of the bed. He put a hand in the back of my neck and kissed me hard. I kissed him back just as hard.

"Better?" he asked.

"Nope, more." I pulled him in for more kisses.

He stood up and took over the kissing. He slanted his head and deepened the kiss. I moaned and wrapped my arms around his waist.

"Tell me what's wrong, Dollface."

I pouted and rested the side of my face against his chest while having my arms wrapped around his waist.

"I don't like how girls are around you."

"You don't have to worry about anything. You are the only one in my heart."

"I know, but why do you have to look so good?"

He laughed and pulled back. I slapped his bottom. "It's not funny!"

"What do you expect me to wear? A t-shirt with your name on it?"

I contemplated the idea. It didn't sound bad at all. He laughed even more and pulled me in for a quick kiss, still laughing. I sighed, because I knew I was being silly. Kai loves me.

After the death of Kai's father, he went through a very hard time for several months. He didn't know how to handle the loss of his father. He wanted to mourn, but he also didn't think his father deserved it.

That changed after he saw the campus counselor. He helped Kai work through his feelings and become a stronger and happier person. I helped him wherever I could, but despite his trauma, he needed the space to work through his emotions and I wasn't the right person to give him what he needed. Kai came back to me when he was ready.

"I love you, Dollface."

"I love you too, Kai."

"How about I ask to leave early and we go somewhere together? Would that make you feel better?"

"No, no. Don't do that. I'm fine. Finish your shift. I'll just head back with Nina. I just wanted to see you."

"It's fine. I wanted to take somewhere today anyways. Wait for me."

He disappeared out the curtains. While waiting for his return, I sent a text to Nina to go ahead to lunch with Devon, Benny, and Avery. Kai came back shortly after wearing just his dress shirt and dress pants. His sleeves were rolled up and he smelled like he just washed his hands.

I got off the bed and walked to him. I looked at his hands through his and we walked out of the volunteer center. A lot of the ladies who were waiting to be seen looked in our direction with pouty expressions before leaving the line.

"How can you work like this?" I grumbled.

Kai looked around and saw what I saw before looking down at me. He walked us to his bike.

"The lady that checked you in screens the symptoms and patient before sending them to the staff. She made sure that I received sick patients. As for you, I mentioned you were my girlfriend. When she saw your name, she let you through."

I nodded, satisfied with the answer.

I got onto the back of Kai's bike and he drove off and away from campus. He drove into the city and parked at a steak restaurant that we have been meaning to make reservations for, but never got the chance.

"You made reservations?" I asked.

Kai took hold of my hand and we walked inside the restaurant together. When we got to the hostess table, she guided us to a private room that was dimly lit with a beautiful chandelier light. The table was a beautiful set with lit candles.

"Wow," I said as I sat at the opposite end of Kai. He scooted his chair closer to me after the hostess left.

While we waited for our food to arrive, Kai and I talked about school and possibly going back home to visit my parents again. It's been two months since our last visit. My parents have completely warmed up to Kai. My dad likes to have long chats with him outside on the porch. Sometimes, I would hear both of them laughing hard outside as they both crack jokes.

When the food arrived, it was the best I've had in a long time. Campus food can be boring after several years. We try to eat at campus around the restaurant, but with our crazy class schedule, it can be hard.

We all went into different fields. Devon and Benny both went into information technology. While Nina went into business management. Avery was studying psychology. I also went into the medical field which was why Kai and I see each other often, but sometimes it could be brief.

After our meals, he leaned over and took hold of my left hand and ran his fingers over mine.

"There is something I want to ask you, Dollface." His eyes connected with mine and within his gaze, I felt the warmth of his love and attention. They were so deep and filled with love, my heart felt it.

"I love you so much and with each passing second, I seemed to love you more and more. There isn't a moment I don't think about you. There is no doubt that I see a future with you. I want to be with you forever, Dollface."

"What are you saying?" I whispered, feeling overwhelmed with tears.

"I'm saying, I love you and marry me, please." He reached into his pocket and pulled out a black, velvet ring box. My heart soared and I couldn't stop smiling widely.

Throwing my arms around him, I whispered....

"Yes!"
