CHAPTER EIGHTY FIVE !

To put a completely long story short, gregory had maggie attacked by ken's father, earl. it was safe to say that ken's parents blamed maggie for what happened. earl and gregory had sort of teamed up to try and kill maggie so that gregory could be the leader of hilltop again. estella, daryl, michonne and rick were staying the night at hilltop as rick needed to ask maggie for help on the bridge.
enid was also attacked and ended up in a wheelchair. estella hated gregory probably more than she hated anybody in the world, but him attacking maggie and estella made her hate him even more. it also started some bad blood between her and earl.
daryl had put estella in the room that he was sleeping in and told her to sleep, but she couldn't. she knew that something was going on outside, she she wanted to see. she didn't like being left out of things. she wanted to see what was going on, if it was important.
she slipped out from underneath the blankets in daryl's shirt, and tiptoed over to her boots that were in the corner of the room. she put them on, and looked out of the window. she wiped her long hair out of her face as she tried to see. people of hilltop, all of which were adults were stood around in a big group. there was clearly something important going on, so she needed to see.
estella opened the door and stepped outside, the cold air instantly hitting her bare shins as the t-shirt only went up to her knees. she silently ran over to the chicken coop, crouching down at the side of it, waiting to see what was going to happen. she hoped more than anything that she was out of sight. if she was found out of bed at such a late hour when daryl had told her to stay in bed, she would be in a whole lot of trouble. more than she already was.
"i don't wanna do this. but people need to understand that at hilltop, the punishment fits the crime. do you have any final words?" maggie asked somebody.
estella quickly looked to where maggie and everyone else was looking, and saw gregory. a noose around his neck. her eyes widened. maggie wasn't going to kill gregory like that, was she? she had seen this method in her book that ezekiel had got her, on the witchcraft pages.
"what you're doing isn't right. somebody stop this, please. killing me in the dead of night because you're ashamed." gregory said.
"you're wrong. i'm not ashamed." maggie replied, before turning to daryl and giving him a nod. daryl nodded back.
as much as estella didn't like gregory, this was wrong. this was really, really wrong. she watched in complete horror as her heart rate heightened in her chest. the way they were killing him was completely inhumane. they could've just shot him.
