As my last class finished up for the day and all of the students poured out of the class room, I was left last to leave. I quickly threw my pens into my pencil case and was about to drift out the door but my teachers voice stopped me. “You’re looking pale, Rose. Are you sleeping well? You know you can always speak to someone at school.” Mrs Amber worrily said. I knew she was a kind lady, but over the year I’ve learned I just want to be left alone.
I don’t want anyone’s worry or pity. Nor do I want their mundane gossip or friendship.
“I know,” I smiled at the teacher, a quick shadow of a smile before I neatly put my books away in my locker and walk down the empty hallway. I had the same schedule every day. Leave school, go home and wait for mom to get home from work, then sleep or read in my room. My mom was worried about me.
Most all the teachers were worried about me.
“Rose.” I heard a gruff voice from behind me as I swiftly turned around, my heart quickening for only a moment with fear. “What?” I asked, venom clear in my voice. It was Ian, though this time with out his group of thugs.
“Are you okay?” He asked, trailing off. This guy must be bipolar. I grit my teeth together with anger though all I felt was sadness. “Why don’t you take that concern and shove it up your ass.” I growled as I quickly walked towards the exit of school. He ran to me and latched onto my arm. “Look I didn’t mean to be such an ass earlier I--” I cut him off with a glare. “I don’t have time for this Ian. I know just as well as you do that tomorrow you will be the same jerk.” I bit my lip as I made it out of the school.
Walking off into the distance all I could think about was being alone at home and dreaming of Him, my vampire.
I didn’t have time for anything else.
