A GASP escaped the brunettes body as her eyes shot open.

Before she could even take in her surroundings, a air mask was placed onto her face. "She's awake!"

A painful groan left her body as they lifted her up from the ground and onto the hospital bed.

"Your going to be okay, Adelaide." The paramedic reassured her, but she didn't care about herself.

"Where's Chad?" Adelaide croaked out. The paramedic pointed ahead, making Adelaide sit up ever so slightly.

She soon spotted the curly haired boy, as a relieved smile found it ways onto her face. "Chad!" She shouted, before wincing at the pain it caused her.

His head shot in her direction as the paramedics wheeled her over to him.

Adelaide immediately leaned over, ignoring the pain it caused her as she wrapped her arms around him. He copied her actions, letting out a sigh of relief that she was okay.

"I thought you were dead." Adelaide whispered.

"I can't die without telling you I love you."

Adelaide looked up, shocked by his words. "I mean, it's completely cool if you don't feel the sam—" Adelaide shook her head, throwing her arms around him once more.

"I would kiss you right now, but I can't breath without this mask." Chad chuckled at her words, before the paramedics wheeled her away.

After two surgery's, Adelaide was finally stable. And the moment she woke up, she was met with some of her family.

But she already wanted nothing to do with them.

She didn't even know who majority of them was, and why would she want to converse with her mother who only returned home after she got stabbed 6 times.

"Can I see Chad?" Adelaide questioned the nurse, who nodded as she smiled.

"He has just asked for you." She responded, handing the brunette the crutches that were rested beside her bed.

"So you're not even going to say hello to your family?" Her mother snapped as Adelaide looked over to the woman. "I don't know any of these people." Adelaide responded in a calm tone as she left the room, allowing the nurse to guide her to Chad's room.

"You have a visitor." The nurse informed Chad, as Adelaide limped in. His eyes brightened at the sight of the girl, but she was soon hidden as his family hurried to comfort her.

After a few moments, Martha looked towards Chad, "We will give you guys some time."

"Thank you." Adelaide thanked the woman, who sent her a bright smile.

As they all left the room, Chad moved up so Adelaide could get into the bed.

She placed her crutches down, before carefully getting into the bed, wincing.

Though, she finally relaxed as his arms wrapped around her waist, holding her close. "I'm so sorry I couldn't protect you, Adel." He whispered as Adelaide lifted her head up from his chest.

She stared into his eyes as she spoke, "It wasn't your fault she attacked me. Turns out Amber really was into the, 'if I can't have you, no one can' trope." Adelaide joked, causing Chad to let out a painful laugh.

As she continued to stare at him, her eyes trailed down to his lips. "You know, you still owe me a kiss."

Adelaide smiled, swinging her arms around his neck before pulling him in for a kiss.

Their lips fit together like a puzzle piece, and it was perfect — exactly how they had both imagined.

As Adelaide pulled away, the only sound to be heard was their heavy breathing.

Chad leaned forward, peppering the girls face in kisses, which resulted in laughter escaping her mouth.

The laugh he loved, and would always love, no matter what happened.

            "I love you, Adel."

            "I love you too, Chad."
