This idea is a literal shower thought.
I was very depressed after watching Aditha Karikalan die in the second Ponniyin Selvan movie, but one of the most profound things for me in that scene is how Nandini screams when she stabs him.
I'm weird that way.
It made me realise she never actually stopped loving him and that a part of her always yearned for him.
So, I decided to write fanfiction in an Alternate universe where Karikalan and Nandini end up married.
If you think that's unacceptable, go watch the movie again and tell me that as she screams while stabbing him.
And don't worry you'll still get lots of drama and fights. It's still the Cholan era.
My other ships will be Vandhiyadevan x Kundavi and Arulmozhi Varman x Vaanathi.
