Where it ends

Oomph

The light in the city sparkled so brightly like twinkling stars on top of skyscrapers, the night was dark, cold, and wet as it just rained, and from nowhere I saw a familiar figure come and give me an ambush attack. Flying through the sky like some sort of jet. I stared at the lights above wondering if they had always been that beautiful.

As I felt an incredible searing pain run through my veins for a second as I hit the brick wall on the tall skyscraper building a hiss escaped my mouth and I spat up a couple of drops of blood. Glaring up at the figure who just attacked me I just scoffed up at them and mocked,

"What is that all you got?"

Despite having the air knocked out of me, I was utterly not ready to give up the fight. Slowly feeling my broken bones form into their once again healthy bonds, I licked the blood that ran down the side of my mouth with a smile creeping up on my face. I have not had a decent fight for a while. How exciting.

Pushing myself off the wall I jumped down from the sizable dent on the wall to the rooftop below it. Admittedly Nashville was unique in its multiple designs of structures but the jumps were endurance-draining. I wanted to just book it but knowing why this man was drawing out creatures of the night for his own sick twisted purposes. I needed to end this once and for all.

Crouching down for a moment, and immediately focusing on my energy the moment I forced all my energy to rush down to my feet and I jumped, Looking into the face of this asshole, I flew up into the air and then delivered him a roundhouse kick powered by my friend, vampiric energy.Seeing the man fly at breakneck speeds was almost satisfying to watch. Floating in the sky for a second I just tilted my head mockingly and began floating slowly to where the man lay. Seeing him huff in exhaustion and pain, I just stopped feet away from him and asked,

"What? I was returning the favor asshole, come on take a joke."

"Your eyes,"

Hearing the low growl fill the silent air, I stared at him unwavering and silent, wanting to hear his pathetic excuse,

"Your eyes glow like rubies in the night...breathtaking."

Smirking at the compliment, I walked over and knelt down, coming face to face with him. I gripped his silvery blonde hair and pulled his face up to face me. Despite his bent armor and his injured body, part of this reminds me of that fateful day long ago. For now, instead of reminiscing, I just spat at his disgraceful face and warned,

"Don't play sweet now after all you did..."

I knew not to make this personal but I couldn't help the crack in my voice, the crack came from the naive 16-year-old girl who first laid eyes on this sick son of a gun. Gritting my teeth in fury and glaring down I pushed up my long hair and immediately said,

"I'll make you regret your pathetic existence."

He looked up and scoffed wheezing out,

"Same...for you really died that day."

Clenching my fist I glared down at this slimy putrid thing, and I just yelled out,

"Shut up! You don't have the right to reminisce! Especially after all you did! How could you! THEY WERE INNOCENT! He was Innocent..."

"I-"

"SHUT UP NOT ANOTHER FUCKING WORD!"

Feeling heated tears fall down the side of my face, I just stared at him, his expression complex yet I know what he felt deep in his heart. Not an ounce of remorse in his blood. He felt nothing for all he had done. He needed to pay.

"I-"

"Shhh....this will be over before you know it, love, don't worry."

Using the dumb nickname he cursed me with before he let his true nature come out, I will make him regret what he has done. I'll admit I even got goosebumps from my own voice, I pulled my hand back and was about to strike him, but feeling a sharp pain he soon tossed a blade aside and I just let him be for a second.

As I looked to see a dismembered hand on the ground and his glaring face staring at me in a final pathetic attempt to stop his death, it was cute.

Kicking him in his side and watching his shirt ripped with his little weapons spilling out, I went to retrieve my arm and let the healing process take its place. Watching my arm reattach itself was lowkey satisfying to watch. Hearing him hiss in pain again I mocked once more,"Aw, you not taking it like a big man? I thought you would be used to having your ass kicked by now. Come on, I am giving you a chance to attack me fair and square, Oh right I think I broke one of your ribs. Oopsie doopsie. I know however monsters are not stopped that easily. So come on."

Watching him writhe in pain, I watched in delight for a moment. The moment where he reached for his gun, I knew it was time to end this once and for all. Pulling from my belt the sheathed sword I carried, I immediately began to pull my useful katana and got into a fighting stance. Looking down I knew this would end here. As flashes came to mind of the past I lunged forward with the thirst to kill.
