The story occurs in modern-day Pakistan and follows Illiyeen Bajwa, a civil engineer, who gets into a car accident while attending her best friend's wedding. Despite being in a difficult position, she agrees to marry Umair Ansari, a cardiologist who happens to be her best friend's cousin. As time passes, Illiyeen grows more attracted to her husband while Umair makes small advances toward her. However, their pasts come back to haunt them, causing complications in their relationship.
