Developing Friendship

I received a text on my phone.

"Hey! This is Darren!"

"Oh, hey! What's up? I replied.

"Nothing much. How bout u?" he replied back.

"Do you have any nickname I can call you? Cause Anjanette is too long for me. LOL!" he added.

"I just got home from back to school shopping! You can call me Anette if you want. LOL. I know my name is too long."

"Oh yeah! Its back to school next week! Anette sounds kinda fine. :)"

"What school are you going to?" I asked.

"Well, I was gonna go back to Canada but..."

"But what?"

"But my parents said that it's better if I stay here in the Philippines so they enrolled me at Eton International School."

"OH MY GOSH! I'm moving to that school too because tita Sarah recommended it to my parents."

"Really? Coach Sarah also recommended it to my parents!"

"I think she recommended it to everyone then. LOL. Anyways, I gtg Darren!"

"Bye Anette!"

I didn't want to end our conversation. It was just because Marion texted and she asked me to go to the mall with her. I could've said no but she's my best friend. I put on my floral shirt from Aeropostale and my joggers from Roots, then I left my house.

*At the mall*

We were heading to McDonald's at the mall's food court.

"Why you so tulala?" Marion asked.

I didn't answer her.

"Hoy! I asked, why you so tulala? Is there something wrong?"

"You freaking interrupted my conversation with Darren just to go to that stupid McDonald's!" I shouted with anger.

"Oh, sorry! He came to your house?"

"No! We were texting each other!"

"Oh. Then text him right now! It's no big deal bruh!"

"My phone is at home, charging!"

She didn't respond because we reached McDonald's. She lined up while I was just sitting there, waiting for her to get her order and go home to text Darren. When she finally got her order, no time was wasted, we just went home.

"Thanks bestie! Love ya!" Marion said as I dropped her off her house.

Marion's house is at the end of my neighbourhood, while my house is in the middle.

"Okay, whatever! Bye!" I answered, then I rolled my eyes.

When I got home, I was gonna go to my room to text Darren but my mom stopped me.

"Perfect! You're already dressed up! Today is the registration day at Eton International School."

"Alright," I responded.

I was so excited because for sure, Darren is going to be there too and I can talk to him in person again! I walked to the car with my mom and drove straight to the school.
