After approximately 5 minutes of driving, we finally arrived to the school. We walked inside the school and lined up where the registration was taking place at. There was this guy in front of me with a familiar hairstyle. At first, I just ignored him. But then he tuned back and it happened to be Darren! He was with his mom I turned red as hell.
"Oh! Hey Anette!" he asked.
"Hi!" I answered with a voice like Cat in Sam and Cat.
"Mom. Mom!" he called his mom.
"This is Anjanette but you can call her Anette if you want. I met her on the backstage after the blind auditions."
"Oh, hi Anjanette! Nice to meet you! It's good to know Darren's not gonna be alone on the first day of school!" she said.
"Hi po," I responded
She didn't answer anymore because it was their turn to register. After a little bit of talking and writing, Darren held up an entrance test and went straight to a classroom. After that, it was our turn. My mom filled up bunch of forms, then the teacher gave me an entrance test too. They told me to go to the classroom where Darren headed. There was a lot of students in the classroom already, but luckily, there was an empty seat beside Darren, so I sat there. A teacher arrived to the classroom.
"Okay class, you have 90 minutes to complete the test. You may start now," the teacher said strictly.
*After 90 minutes*
"Times up! Hand in you test to me and just wait for the result outside the classroom," the teacher shouted.
I walked with Darren towards the classroom door.
"Do you think you did good on the test?" I asked.
"I think so," he answered.
"That's great! Me too!Wait, what is the passing mark again?"
"I think it's like 50%?"
"Oh."
"Yeah."
Our conversation ended up there because our parents were in different locations at that time, and we had to stay with them to wait for the test results.
After about 1 hour of waiting, I ate about 3 large bags of chips already. They announced that the result is available for pickup at the classroom where I took the test. All the students and parents went to the classroom and got their test results. Most seemed happy, while some seemed disappointed. Darren approached me.
"Hey again Anette!"
"Hey Darren! By the way, I forgot to introduce you to my mom!"
I called my mom and introduced Darren.
"Your mom seems nice."
"Yeah, LOL."
"By the way Anette, what did you get on the test?"
"You go first!"
"Ladies first!"
"Ugh, fine! I got 95%!"
"That's amazing!"
"Now would you tell me what you got?"
"I got 98%."
"What? That's like a mission!"
"Nah! I heard somebody got a 100%. Anyways, Anette I have to go cause I have a dentist appointment"
"Sure! Bye Darren!"
Then he left. I was still mad because he got higher than me on the entrance test. But that means, we're gonna be in the same section because we both got A pluses! My mom held my hand and headed to our car, then went home.
"Are you excited for back to school? You have one week left to get ready!" my mom asked while driving.
"Yeah, I guess so," I answered while playing minecraft on my iPad.
"So, you made a new friend, huh?"
"Yeah. I met him backstage after the blinds."
"Really? That's great, honey!"
"Yeah"
She stopped talking to me. I guess, she got annoyed because I kept saying yeah. We arrived home. I went straight to my room to continue playing minecraft. Today was surely a memorable day for me.
