However when he walked back over to the counter, he looked down at his daughter, and noticed she wasn't even paying attention.

With a sigh he told her to just help around the shop while he walked over to the door to turn on his newly bought led open sign.

As she walked around she helped sweep the floors but after doing that she had nothing else of importance to do, so she walked around his moderately sized shop trying on different hats, jewelry and such.

However, she quickly tired of this and so went over to her father's stack of books that he had been reading.

Having pulled out one of the books that she thought looked interesting, she flipped through it.

Quickly being annoyed, she questioned not outloud but in her head, "What is the use of a book, without pictures or conversations, no adventure nor romance? All it is, is history and family trees. How boring must adults be? ''

she then quietly added to herself "i do wonder, however, what it would be like to be one. To be an adult able to go on grand adventures and doing whatever I'd like whenever I'd like to do it."

As she was considering in her own mind all sorts of things she sat on a stool next to her fathers front window display.

She thought of many things before finally landing on whether the world could actually be filled with adventure like in her books, having only known this small town her whole life, well at least the amount of life she's already lived.

As she looked up at her family's portraits on the walls she wondered if her family even knew of adventure or if any of them had been stuck here too.

"Allie, Allie" shouted her father snapping her out of her daydreams "Your mother will be here soon to pick you up, so take this fruit and go sit outside to wait for her, please."
