★ Ryuu's Perspective

I woke up to Jinko jumping on me.

"Ryuu wake upppp"

I open my eyes slowly and scrunch my eyebrows

"I'm awake now thanks"

" I bought stuff to make cake :D"

"What type?" I asked

"Vanilla and Chocolate marble cake" he said

"Fine I'll get up"

I got dressed and put my hair up and walk to the kitchen. I see Jinko sitting at the table playing with his hands sitting in front of all the ingredients in a perfect array. He realized I was there and smiled the cutes most full hearted smile ever.

"All right can I have the ingredient list and instructions please dearest?"

He handed me the papers still smiling.

The ingredients +instructions

IngredientsMarble Cake2 cups + 1/4 cup (240g + 30g) cups all-purpose flour, spooned and leveled and split 1 Tbsp (14g) baking powder 1/2 tsp salt 1/4 cup (56g) unsalted butter, room temperature 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar 1/2 cup (100g) light brown sugar, lightly packed 1/2 cup (118mL) canola oil 3 large eggs, room temperature 3/4 cup (170g) sour cream, room temperature 1 tsp vanilla extract 3/4 cup (177mL) milk, room temperature 1/3 cup (26g) unsweetened cocoa powder, spooned and leveled Vanilla Bean Buttercream1 cup (227g) unsalted butter, room temperature Pinch of salt 4 cups (420g) C&H Confectioners Sugar, spooned and leveled 2-4 Tbsp (30-60mL) heavy whipping cream 2 tsp (8g) vanilla bean paste
InstructionsMarble CakePreheat the oven to 350/177C convection (or 325F/162C conventional) and grease and line three 6-inch (15.24 cm) cake pans. In a medium bowl, whisk together the 2 1/4 cups (270g) of flour, baking powder and salt. Set the dry ingredients aside Use a stand mixer, fitted with the whisk attachment, to beat the butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar together, on medium-high speed, for 1-2 minutes. Add in the oil and beat for another minute, at full speedsAdd in the eggs, one at time, beating well after each addition for about 30 seconds. Make sure to scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed. Add in the sour cream and vanilla and mix just until they're combined. With the mixer on low speed, add half of the flour mixture to the batter, followed by the milk and the other half of the flour. Beat the mixture on medium speed, just until the flour is fully incorporated, making sure to scrape all the flour off the edge of the bowl.Separate the batter in half into two separate bowls, there should be about 45 oz total. Add the reserved 1/4 cup (30g) of flour to one half and the cocoa powder to the other half.Place globs of both batters into the cake pans, distributing the batter evenly among all three. To create the marble effect, use a toothpick or a knife to swirl the batter back and forth a few times. Bake for about 35 minutes, until the cake springs back when it's poked or a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Remove the cakes from the pans and allow them to cool completely before frosting.Vanilla ButtercreamPlace the room temperature butter in the bowl of a stand mixer. Using a whisk attachment, beat the butter on medium-high speed for 1-2 minutes, until the color turns to a pale yellow.Add the salt and the powdered sugar to the butter and mix on low speed, just until it's combined. Turn the mixer to medium-high speed and beat the buttercream for at least five minutes, until all of the sugar is fully dissolved and the buttercream no longer feels gritty. Pour in the heavy whipping cream and vanilla bean paste and beat for another 2 minutes on high speed. If the buttercream is too soft to frost, refrigerate it for 10-15 minutes before frosting.
just in case you want to make the best type of cake y'know
★still Ryuu's Perspective
I preheated the oven and lined the pans.
" Dearest can you get a medium sized bowl and whisk together  2 1/4 cups (270g) of flour, baking powder and salt."
"Yep:)" he said and got to work.
I got out the stand mixer and beat the butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar together, on medium-high speed, for 1-2 minutes. Add in the oil and beat for another minute, at full speed.By the time I finished he was done too.

"Do you want to help me 'Add in the eggs, one at time, beating well after each addition for about 30 seconds. Make sure to scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed. Add in the sour cream and vanilla and mix just until they're combined.' Dear?" I said read off the paper

"Yessssss" he answered

I handed him the egg carton and he look disappointed.

"Can you help me with the eggs please?"

"Of course dearest"

I got up behind him and grabbed his hands lining up my fingers with his. I slowly guided him showing him how to do it, but I could tell he only focused on how close we were. After we mixed the eggs in he helped me add the sour cream and vanilla. He read the paper and added half the flour mixture and milk the  adding the rest of the flour mixture. I split the mix giving him the cocoa powder and a bowl with half of the batter, and me 1/4 cups of flour and the other half of the mixture. I got ou the toothpicks and gave him one of the spatulas. We when bak and forth  putting scoops in the pan. Once we were done filling the pan we had some left.

"What would you like to do with the extra?" I asked

"This" he said taking some of my batter on his finger touching my nose.

I smiled and did the same to him, touching his nose with his batter. He then took more smearing it over my face.

"You little-" I say before doing the same to him. We started laughing.

"Go wash your face" I say once we were done.

He scurried off to wash his face, I took a wet rag and washed mine. Once he got back we carried on and put the batter in the oven. Then we got started on the frosting.

~magical time skip to when they finish the frosting and take the cake out and let it cool~

★ Ryuu's Perspective

Once the cake was cool enough we frosted it and cut it in to 6 pieces.

"Go sit at the table I'll get you a piece" I said as he went and sat down.

I got out two plates and took out two pieces for us to eat.

A/N I really enjoyed writing this one idk why. Also first person to comment gets a piece of cake 🍰
