The past is the past for a reason
That is where it is supposed to stay
But some cannot let it go
In their heads it eats away

Until all their focus becomes
The person that they used to be
The mistakes they made in their life
Oh, if only they could see

That you cannot change what happened
No matter how hard you try
No matter how much you think about it
No matter how much you cry

What happens in your lifetime
Happens for reasons unknown
So you have to let the cards unfold
Let your story be shown

Don't get wrapped up in the negative
Be happy with what you have been given
Live for today not tomorrow
Get up, get out and start living

Because the past is the past for a reason
It's been and now it is gone
So stop trying to think of ways to fix it
It's done, it's unchangeable, move on

The hot water splashed down onto Elsa's back. Her mind wandered as she ran her hands through her hair. It wandered far, stretching past worry and regret. Her only thought was what her life was a month ago. That first day of school, when Merida, Rapunzel, Hiccup and Jack had all welcomed them with open arms, Elsa and Anna.

Covering her entire head with water she washed off the coconut scented shampoo. She didn't bother with conditioner, but turned the shower off instead. She rested her back against the wall and slowly her bare body slid down so she was sitting in the bath, the last of the hot water dripping onto her head. She would've cried except every time her face crumpled, it suddenly snapped back to it's hard look and no tears fell. Perhaps she was stronger, or maybe she just had no tears left. Or she was just unresponsive to sadness now.

After a time of getting cold, Elsa grabbed her light blue towel and wrapped it around her. She unlocked the door and walked to her bedroom. Her hair dripping down her back.

"Elsa?" Anna called, popping her head round from her bedroom door. But Elsa didn't want to talk yet, so stepped into her bedroom, and shut the door, not looking back.

She dried off and dressed herself in Levi Jeans that came up to her small waist and a light blue V-neck crop-top. On her hand was Jacks ring. Aster had given it to her, on behalf of Jack. it had been 3 weeks since the 'accident' as the police are calling it. Sure, Pitch went down for what he did, but got it lightly because Jack attacked first. Had Elsa been gifted with the powers Jack had, she might have seeked her own revenge.

But no.

She was able to miss the lessons she wished at school, she was able to stay in her bedroom all she liked, but she had to see a counsellor, and she had to stay away from Hiccup, Rapunzel and Merida until she was 'better' and not so depressed.

Elsa sat on the edge of her bed. She decided today was the today. She was going to go back to school. Her counsellor had said she was ready in her mind but her heart told her not too.

"Elsa?" There was a small knock at her door. Anna. "Are you coming to school today?" It was the same question every morning. Normally Elsa wouldn't reply, and bury herself in her duvet and sleep all day long. But this time was different.

She needed change.

"Yes, I am." Elsa responded. She was surprised at her voice. It had been a while since she didn't whisper or mutter.

"Really?! Great!! Meet me downstairs." Anna giggled. Elsa could tell she was smiling on the other side.

"Alright." Elsa replied, her tone slightly cold. She hadn't meant it to be, but something was different about Elsa, and she knew it. Grabbing her phone and rucksack she stepped out of her bedroom and walked down the stairs. She heard her Uncle Olaf and Anna talking.

"She's going?" Olaf asked.

"Yes! Finally!" Anna laughed happily.

"I don't think she's ready. Anna when was the last time you heard her talk? Other than today."

"She doesn't sing anymore Uncle. She doesn't play. She never braids her hair. But the worst thing is the singing. I miss her. I want Elsa back and I think school will help her come out of this shell." Anna explained. Elsa felt touched at her sisters kind words, but she felt no warm happiness like before. Instead she walked down the stairs and into the kitchen.

"I'm ready." She smiled weakly.

"Are you sure?" Olaf asked. Elsa nodded.

Hiccup pushed his glasses up his nose and concentrated on listening to his girlfriend, Merida.

"- but she still refuses to answer my calls." She finished her long rant.

"Look Merida, maybe she needs her space?" Hiccup offered.

"Hasn't she had enough?! Anna comes to school everyday, her face lined with sadness. Elsa sits in that room and sleeps. Jacks not dead!" Merida cried.

"I get that you miss her, Mer. I understand that. But Elsa ... she's..." He tried to find the word.

"Right over there." Rapunzel cut in, pointing to a slim, pale blonde.

"Elsa?!" Merida screeched and dashed over to her, wrapping her arms around her.

"Hi guys." Elsa murmured.

"How you doing?" Hiccup asked.

"Better. I needed to see you guys again. I've missed you terribly." Elsa smiled, but it wasn't warm, and Hiccup clocked it. The falseness. This wasn't the Elsa they all knew and loved.

"Good, I'm happy you're back." Punzie grinned.

"Me too." Hiccup nodded.

"Me three!" Merida piped up. Suddenly a phone began to ring.

"Oh shoot that's me. Hang on." Rapunzel pulled her pink iPhone from her pocket. "It's Aster. Do you want to answer Elsa?"

"Okay then." Elsa shrugged and took the phone with shaking hands. She slid it across. Her heart pounded. "Hello?" She said clearly.

"Elsa? Is that you? Oh my god I've been trying to call you!" Asters frantic voice was rabbling on.

"Hi, sorry it's on silent. What's up?" Elsa asked.

The others watched intently as Elsa 'mmm'ed to everything she heard. Nodding a few times. Suddenly her face changed from listening to shocked. Pure shock was filling her blue eyes as she looked at them all. Hiccup was dying to know what Aster was saying.

"Oh god, I'll be there as soon as I can I'm at school. You'll pick me up? Okay see you soon. With the others yeah?...there's 4 of us. Brilliant. See you in ten." She hung up.

"Elsa? What is it?" Rapunzel asked taking her phone back.

"It's Jack ... He's awake."
