Background:
You were at a Hydra base where they had a rule that no one was allowed to speak unless you wanted a punishment so you grew up mute. You can only say a few words but you never learned anything so it's just what you picked up from some of the guards

Yn's pov:
I jolt awake crying from another nightmare. I always have them but this one was a bad one.
"Yn!" Nat calls rushing over to me and scooping me up. I snuggle into her, still crying but not as much, and she strokes my hair with one hand and rocks me gently.
"Did you have a bad dream my love?" she asks me and I nod wiping my eyes and wiggling out her grip. I know she means well I just haven't quite adjusted to being comforted just yet.
"What do you want to do?" Nat asks me and I shrug. I want to go back to her room and sleep in her bed because it's super squishy and safe and makes me feel happy but I can't tell her that so I just look at her hoping she can tell what I want.
"You can talk to me sweetheart. You can use your words and tell me what it is that you want" Nat encourages but I just shake my head. I know she won't hurt me but I just don't feel like talking anymore. I don't really know how to.

It's been five minutes and Nat has suggested everything other than me going to her room and i'm starting to get annyoed.
"Do you want to... watch a movie?" Nat asks and that's the last straw. I huff loudly, jump down off the bed and take her hand. Nat stands up smirking a little as I lead her into her room and point to her bed. Nat chuckles "You want my bed huh?" she asks and I nod trying to climb into it but i'm small and her bed's big.
"Come here" she lifts me up and sits on the bed with me on her lap. She then adjusts the covers over both of us and I let out a yawn.
"You go to sleep love and i'll protect you okay?" I shake my head and point to her TV and she laughs.
"Okay we can watch TV for half an hour and then bed time okay?" Nat tells me and I nod shuffling around getting comfy. Nat hands me my bunny teddy that she brought from my room and I cuddle up with it.

Nat's pov:
Yn's snuggled on my lap as I flick through some shows to put on. I decide on peppa pig as its something simple and the words are easy for her to hopefully pick up. We watch one episode before Yn yawns and puts her thumb in her mouth. I rub her back slowly letting her drift off to sleep. It's only 10:30pm but she's been in bed since 7pm. Yn sleeps soundly whilst I watch some trash TV for a bit just to make sure that she doesn't have another nightmare. I love it when Yn comes into my bed and it's been happening more often than not, but i'm not complaining. It means she's really getting to trust me and maybe she'll start talking soon.

"Nat?" I hear someone knock on the door
"Come in" I call knowing it's Wanda. The door opens and I was right, Wanda walks over to the bed with tear stains on her cheeks.
"Oh sorry I didn't know Yn was in here" she says wiping her eyes.
"Don't worry come here" I say patting the bed next to me. Wanda carefully gets into the bed beside me and rests her head on my shoulder.
"You had a bad dream too?" I ask
"It was about Pietro" she whispers and I nod rubbing her back with my spare hand.
"You know Yn really likes you" I tell her hoping it distracts her
"She does?" Wanda asks and I nod
"Of course she does! She may not be able to say it but I can just tell she does"
"How?" Wanda asks
"Well you see what she's doing with the bunny?" I ask and Wanda looks at Yn who's holding the bunny to her chest tightly
"She's doing what I said to do" Wanda smiles
"Yeah she is" I say as Wanda yawns a little
"Go to sleep i've got you" I tell her
"How are you going to sleep?" Wanda asks me
"Don't you worry about me. I'll be fine with my two girls" I tell her and she nods closing her eyes.

I stay like this for a while until I feel tired myself and close my eyes. I'll most likely wake up with a sore neck but I don't mind as long as my girls sleep well.

Yn's pov:
I wake up to sun shining into Nat's bedroom so I know it's the morning. I turn a little and see Wanda in bed too and she's also awake.
"Hey Yn!" Wanda says and I smile at her. "Did you sleep well?" she asks me and I nod. I wish I could speak to her but my mouth just won't let any words come out.
"You don't have to talk if you don't want to" Wanda tells me but I do want to talk I just don't know the words.
"Come here" she says opening her arms. I look at her for a second before lifting my arms letting her lift me out of Nat's arms.
"Let's go try something" she says carrying me to her room and putting me on the floor.
"If you don't like it or want to stop tap the floor okay?" Wanda tells me and I nod confused.
"We're going to practice words!" Wanda says and I look at her happily. She gets some flashcards out and we start with sounds. I'm scared to make a noise at first and I know with word 'cat' as a nice guard taught it to me with a real life cat, which did get killed but at least I leanred the word!
"Okay so this one is c-a-t can you try?" Wanda asks. I open my mouth and try to say the word but it's like my throat won't open or my voice box won't work.
"Take your time love, don't rush" I hear Nat say. I turn around and see her leaning agaisnt the doorway. Now Nat's here I really really try.
"Cat" I say.
"You did it love!" Nat says rushing over and hugging me super tight!
"Oh well done Yn" Wanda says joining the hug.
"Cat!" I say smiling making Wanda laugh.
"Shall we learn some more?" Nat asks and I nod excited to learn more words that will make Nat and Wanda happy.
