New York City
I heard stories
I've seen it in so many movies and shows
But I never went
Never, until today
New York feels like an enormous animal
It eats me up
Together with anyone else
It was loud, dirty and vast
Incomprehensible big
It gave me something
This city
Everyday people come to New York
Hoping to full fill their dreams
The animal swallows them with their dreams
Only to spit out most of them
Shattered dreams as luggage
For me, I enjoy getting devoured
I cherish it
I make experience after experience
Without fear
And when the beast finally spits me out
I left
New York
I've seen it in movies and shows
But I never went
Never, until today
I let the beast swallow me and spit me out
I experienced the real New York
And I loved it
New York
