Derek sighed, staring at his reflection in the small mirror of his room. He was too tired to deal with reapplying his peach coloured makeup, despite Norman’s wishes for his son to look normal, Derek wasn’t in the mood plus he didn’t live with Norman anymore so why did it matter . They walked away from the mirror and grabbed his bag, and his pokeballs, before heading downstairs.

He looked at one of the pokeballs in his hand. He smiled weakly before letting out his pokemon. An altaria popped out with a small honk sound. “Well good morning Derek!” cheerfully said the altaria with another honk sound following her words. Derek’s small smile grew a bit, “Morning Tracey” He replied ruffling the jester's hat on her head.

He walked to the couch as Tracey followed behind “How did you sleep..? I know you’ve been having trouble sleeping after…-” she paused before finishing her thought, “-...the journey and what happened..” Derek looked over at the cloud, his eyes filled with sadness and guilt as he sat down slowly and shaky, setting his bag next to the couch.  Tracey realised she might have messed up and quickly apologised. “Tracey, Tracey, It’s fine..I slept well, surprisingly..” The altaria’s mood changed quickly with her trainer’s words, “Well, that’s great!” She smiled at her trainer, which he returned with a soft smile.

Tracey hopped up next to the male, her cloud slightly squeaking as it hit the cushion. “Could you possibly let the others out of their pokeballs..?” Derek looked over at his bag, full of his team, or his remaining team. He grabbed his bag and grabbed another pokeball, opening it, unsure really whose ball it was. As soon as his eyes spotted the cradily, he knew this was going to be a mistake. “Salutations Salty, Salutations Tracey”, Derek groaned but replied to the weirdly cheerful cradily, “Hey Pete” “Hello Pete!” Tracey chimed in after her trainer.

Derek grabbed his other pokeballs, letting the rest of his team out into the world. Pastey was still as messed up as ever, Sara was still being koi, Fowwest was still being weird and Hannah was playing flappy bird for iphone. Yep, some things never change and maybe that was for the best, Derek knew none of them could handle any more big changes in their lives, their journey was enough for them. They just wanted to take it easy, and that's exactly what they were going to do.
