From the moment she was born, Gianna had been sheltered. Her parents planned out her entire life from the moment she was conceived and that plan was instilled into her from a young age. Be the best, stand out from the crowd and achieve the most you can. Her designated dream was to follow in her parent's footsteps—working in the medical field alongside them.
So for over two decades, she did everything her parents expected from their youngest child. She was the top of every class, grades were always high and she seemed to have her head in a book everyday of her life. And as a result of that, she grew to have some type of emptiness within herself as the years went on.
She never had the opportunity to have multiple friends, have fun sleepovers, party and have fun like a regular teenager. She wished she could, but she never had the chance, seeing as she was looking into the future—the future that was already set as hers, but not by her.
She continued to excel in everything she did and was so tantalized and geared to make her parents proud that even when she attended college, university and medical school, she didn't let the tempting realization that she was no longer under the cloae scope of her parents, drifted her from reaching her goal. And that was definitely a good decision, she'd come to realize over time.
The only true freedom she had found herself was when she moved to San Francisco, over two thousand miles away from her home—specifically her parents. That freedom was still slightly limited though, because at the end of the day, she was working under her family name, brand and lineage.
However, this was her opportunity to step out of her shell and her comfort zone. Test the waters and explore the world of being a young adult. That was hard to do to begin with—Gianna couldn't start or hold conversation to begin.

A talkative, charismatic man that had her giggling on their first meet. The man who showed an interest in her that she herself was a doubtful about. He was the piece she was missing, the key to unlock that part of herself that she never got to unleash or understand.
He was the one to get her out of her zone and see the world as she always desired to.
