hiccup had awoken, it was cold and damp. the atmosphere was filled with whimpers from scared dragons , yet the occasional roars filled with nothing but rage. rage from not just the dragons but from the floor boards that creaked, as the boat smashed against the cruel, blood thirsty waves. craving vengeance.

hiccups eyes filled with tears of true sorrow, as he eyes began to theist upon the horrid sight Infront of him. garf. garfs body was laid lifelessly right in front of hiccup.

his heart had shattered at seeing his dear friend dead, tears forceful and violently streaming down his face. nothing but rage, and hate ran through his veins. nothing like his former self would have ever felt. never.

hiccups hand cupped garfs lifeless form, praying to the gods above something can be done to save his friend, but hiccup himself knew he was to late. feeling above garfs heart to feel and hear nothing, but the cold jagged scales that littered his friends body. the friend he had raise.

words couldn't even explain the amount of emotions this poor boy was feeling. worry for his best friend toothless. was he dead? anger for what viggo had done to garf. yet also terrified.

hiccups was mainly alone, by the looks of it he was on the bottom floor of the boat, trapped inside a cage, made for dragons. quite ironic if hiccup must say for himself, his mother had always told him he was more like a dragon than a viking. which would make sense with the whole dragon whisperer situation.

Back at berk :

Context:
It had been a month since hiccup haddock had went missing. He had only just reunited both his parents back together, in hope for a normal life. All was peaceful. Until hiccup disappeared on a cold snoggletog winters day. Leaving nothing behind.

Astrid had been the first to notice hiccups absence. Astrid and her beloved dragon storm fly, searched every possible rock and stone in the archipelago, in hope to find hiccup. Astrid hated feeling so weak but without hiccup everything felt off. She had gotten so used to hiccups joyful smile and idiotic inventions for example the flysuit. That now it felt miserable without his presence.

She'd wake up every morning in hope to see hiccup in his home on dragons edge but each day she was let down.

All the dragon riders were finding it hard without there leader, dragon hunters have been appearing more often. And without hiccups plans the dragon riders were failing.

Every single dragon rider had became miserable, Snotlout was missing his cousin. And he'd been the unfortunate one to tell Valka and Stoick that hiccup was missing. Nobody knew what happened when Stoick left berk to inform the rest of the dragon riders but he had shut down completely. No more sarcastic comments he'd fully stopped flirting with Astrid and ruffnut. He was miserable.

The twins had taken a huge fall back due to hiccups absence. Both twins believed that  hiccup was gone. Dead. Along side toothless his beloved dragon. Tuffnut had felt a void he never felt before. He stopped Loki pranks. He stopped talking.

Fishlegs was the worst off all. He lost his best friend, he partner is research. The rest of the riders would randomly find Fishlegs talking to himself as if hiccup was still there to no avail.

The riders were torn apart. With no hope all they had was eachother for comfort.

Eventually due to Stoicks orders, the riders had moved to berk but all refused to leave each others sides. Once news of hiccups disappearance heather had rode out on windshear as fast as she could. She cried at the thought of losing her brother figure. Dagger had disappeared nobody knew where to, but he was gone. Nobody could see him. Many berkians had actually blamed Dagger for hiccups disappearance believing it was his fault. Due to his strange disappearance. But to nobody's knowledge, dagger had actually been out fly in hope to find hiccup. He had found only one clue and that was dragon hunters. Dagger had found toothless saddle with dragon root arrows discarded in the ocean. Dagger knew it was hiccups as it had toothless tail fin pattern burnt into the saddle.

Dagger had informed Stoick about what he found. Stoick had told the riders Valka and gobber only. All giving them the beginning of there goose chase.

Dragon hunters / hiccups POV :

Hiccup would have liked to believe he had only been here for around a week but he knew deep down it had been way longer. For all the talking fishbone like figure knew he could have been down here for months maybe even years. He had no idea.

Viggo hadn't been down to the cells in god knows how many days. Hiccup was thankful for that but at the same time it scared him. And hiccup hated that feelings, reminded him of when he was an outcast on berk.

Hiccup had been moved to a new cell one which the remains of his friend garf wasn't in. His new cell, which was faraway from garfs. Was alot smaller but had a bed in the corner. The cell opposite to hiccups, had his best friend toothless. Which had filled hiccup with joy, but toothless cell wasn't alone. There was a baby night fury. Named moonfly.  She was a female newly born nightfury.

She had easily warmed up to hiccup, after seeing how close toothless and the boy was. Moonfly was injured. One of her wings had been ripped.  A huge bit missing which hiccup could of fixed if he wasn't stuck in this stupid cell.

Hiccup had been speaking dragonese for the majority of his imprisonment. It was actually quite helpful, hiccup had originally thought he was fully fluent but it was nice to speak it constantly it did help his pronunciation.

The smaller nightfury had loved the fact hiccup could speak dragonese.

But yet viggo still hadn't visited.

The wind rushed through astrids blond hair as her and stormfly rode in their element. Both their eyes open and expecting. Expecting for anything.

Dragon hunter, dragon hunter ships, injured dragons but most importantly her other half. Hiccup haddock the 3rd.

Astrid felt miserable without her one legged friend. Something her younger self would've laughed at.

Even Snotlout had changed. Everyone knew it but nobody questioned it. The boy was more isolated and kept himself away from everyone but the riders. He always made sure to check on them. He wasn't ready to lose another friend. Not today. Not tomorrow. Never. Never, ever again.

Sooner or later hookfang had caught up with stormfly, to astrids relief.

It had been around half a day the whole gang were back together flying in an uneven pater yet keeping a gap in the middle where hiccup and toothless were meant to be. Reminding them constantly of their missing rider.

The weather had changed. A dark ebony sky, embedded the waves of the ocean glistening as they rippled. All sound dragged and silenced away by the sound of the crashing waves. The riders cried out as their companions speed increased. Flying straight in an uneven order. Lighting roared, striking all its power onto its helpless victim.

A sharp bolt of lightning blurred infront of Snotlouts eyes. Shaking the men into the depth below. Snotlout fell, hookfang fell to no avail. Chaos thrived at its merciless victim below.

Screams of snoutlouts friends exploded in his ears till everything turned black replacing with a constant ringing...
