My eyes hung open like closet doors as I stared down at my ex lovers limp body in my shaking arms, as the faint melancholy whispers of the dead children surrounded me.
"W-William I.." I mumbled to myself, my lip quivering as like the rest of my body.
But when I felt the cold man's heart beat, my brows instantly furrowed.
Now instead of the fragile man in my arms, I pictured all of the children.
Blood covering the walls as he smiled sadistically, the children's screams echoing in my ears as if it was a large empty hallway that never seemed to end.I had to run.
I had done it before, it wasn't hard to do.
But it felt like something was pulling me back. I couldn't tell what exactly.
Now that I knew what kind of man William was I didn't love him, but my body and heart still embarrassingly yearned for his embrace and presence. What should I do?The question ran though my mind a few more times. The moment was a repeat in history, several decades and generations apart. But instead of leaving the man for his good, I'm doing it for mine.
I have no time.
I shoved the man off of me, glaring down at him slowly as my hand gripped my chest tightly. "It burns.." I whimpered to myself pathetically. "No.." the ghosts silently shouted at me, it all seeming like a jumble of worlds from the constant calls echoing in the dull garage.
Seeing William was still knocked out I breathed in deeply, stepping towards the door to the outside.
As I gripped the handle and swung it open, a cold gust and constant rain droplets that felt like needles pricked my face.
My eyes squinted as I slammed the door, wiped my face, and stomped off to the living room in a irritated manner.
I looked around closely, seeing if I could find anything valuable for my getaway.
I saw some small green rain boots, looking about the size to fit a petite woman's foot, with white daisy's printed all over.
I grabbed them swiftly, pushing them onto my foot like Cinderella's evil step sisters, then grabbing my crowbar and running upstairs.
I grabbed a dark grey hoodie from William and threw it on over my outfit.
I then heard a loud "SHIT." From downstairs, and my legs got wobbly and tears formed In my eyes.
Fuck it.
I sprinted downstairs after throwing the hoodie over my head and grabbing my crowbar, jumping at the doorknob on the front door.
In the corner of my eye I saw William about 10 feet away, standing with shocked eyes at the entrance of the kitchen.
Tears fell heavier then the rain, as Williams jacket got soaked and the small rain boots filled to the brim with water.
God, I hate immortal love.
