Carbs skipped through the barn, pumped after a great dressage practice. She skipped past Gage and blew them a kiss, making them blush a little. She then walked to Rubix's stall with a carrot in-hand
"You did amazing today, R." She said, patting the friesian's neck and giving him the carrot. Rubix crunched on his carrot, nodding his head as if he understood his rider. Carbs laughed when they saw this and gave her horse a hug.
Gage approached the ecstatic mug, who was still patting and hugging her horse.
"I'm guessing that private with Mysie went well then?" Gage asked, petting Rubix's nose.
"Yep! I can now go from X to K like a champ!" Carbs giggled as she gave Rubix one last hug.
"Someone's in a good mood." Tien said while strolling by. "Gage, start tacking up Prancer for that show jumping lesson you requested."
"Alright then! Bye Carbs!" Gage said, walking towards Prancer's stall."
"Good luck Gage!" Carbs called out.
"You too!" Gage said by mistake, face palming before reaching Prancer's stall and grabbing his halter. "Hey Prancey! We're gonna be really good with that orange jump, right?" Gage asked, and Prancer pinned is ears. "Right, of course." They chuckled, leading Prancer to the hitching post.
Just then, a man walked in, holding a clipboard.
"HEY. That's my thing!" Tien screeched, running up to the man. "What are you doing here?"
"Hello, I'm with the newspaper. I'm here for an interview on Gage Witherwilt and their instructor." The man replied.
"Alright then, but I'm gonna need you to not steal my thing, put down the clipboard. Gage has a lesson soon but you can talk to them real quick." Tien smiled, showing the man around.
"This is where we keep our tack and sometimes our misbehaving members." Tien explained. "This is Florian, our mascot. And this over here, is Gage themself!" She introduced Gage to the man.
"Uhm, hello." Gage said, shaking the man's hand, confused as they had not noticed him coming in.
"Hello Gage! I've heard about your riding and I would love to interview you for a slot in the newspaper." The man smiled warmly.
"Me? Really? That's so cool! What would you like to know?" Gage asked, throwing a saddle pad over Prancer's back.
"A little about yourself, your life, your riding, and your horse!" The man said. "Oh forgive me for being rude, my name is Gordon Blackwood." He introduced himself.
"The pleasures all mine, sir." Gage said formally. "I'm 19, I've been riding for quite a while now, and this is Prancing Petals, he's the best horse you'll ever meet." Gage said, patting Prancer before putting their jumping saddle onto the horse's back.
"And what about your family life?" Gordon asked, writing on a notepad, as his clipboard was confiscated.
"Well my mum and my dad still live back in Britain." They said, tightening their girth.
"I see, so you live alone then?"
"Well, sort of. I have these four crazy friends who break into my house almost every night." Gage laughed, realizing how absurd that truly was. "But yeah I technically live alone." Gage paused. "Welp, I've got to get this man's bridle on and get over to the arena, you can watch if you want!" Gage said, unfastening Prancer's halter.
"Alright! Sure will." Gordon replied, walking out to the arena. As he approached the seats, he noticed a girl with long black hair sitting, awaiting Gage's lesson. "Hello ma'am." He greeted the knifey fangirl, who looked up and patted the seat next to her.
"Hi! I'm guessing you're a Gage fan too? I'm Carbs!" She greeted the man.
"I am. And pardon me but are you a Carbohydrates Cocoa?" Gordon asked.
"Yeah, but just call me Carbs." She said, slightly annoyed.
The two chatted during Gage's lesson, both watching Gage approach each jump, Carbs cheering after every leap.
After the lesson, Gage got off their horse and walked over to Carbs and Gordon.
"Hello again, Gordon. I see you've met Carbs, she's one of those friends I told you about." They said, Carbs please that she got a shoutout.
"Yes, she seems very bright." Gordon replied.
"Me? Smart? That's more Gage's thing." Carbs giggled. "Gage, want me to help you put Prancer away?"
"Oh no I-"
"Great! You don't mind if I help out, right Gordon?" She asked, getting up.
"Not at all. I was just about to leave." He said, getting up. "Good meeting you all."
"You too!" Carbs and Gage said at the same time.
