The next morning was like the last morning. Waking up, brushing teeth, washing face, and heading out at the same time. Zhanghao feared what would happen in the morning, if Hanbin will greet him, stay friendly to him and possibly tease him. But no, Hanbin did not.
He stood outside, stared at Zhanghao's worried but already red face for a few minutes before running down the stairs and riding off. Zhanghao stayed standing longer than usual, with an envelope in hand.
Okay, be like that then.
The two of them took their bikes out of their parked positions before riding off to school once again -- something unusual. Hanbin stayed the same with his routine of riding fast up hills and sometimes riding with one hand only. However Zhanghao was acting like he was dying -- or maybe he was.
He had wished to be the one who headed out first, he had wished to be the more athletic one out of the unconnected pair, he had wished to be admired just like how Hanbin was. So currently, Zhanghao was forcing himself to use much of his quads to catch up, even trying to stand up while cycling, believing it was easier. It was indeed -- if Zhanghao had the balance of a cyclist and not a dancer.
They were at least a block away from each other, which is pretty far considering Zhanghao's struggles. Hanbin never took a glance back at the other boy, but a smirk slightly appeared as his ears stayed perked up.
At the sight of the big gates, Zhanghao took many deep breaths before walking over to where students park their bikes. He walked to the gate again after locking his bike in place, and stood at the gate, just panting with his hand on his heart, feeling how fast it went. Being competitive was useless, and Zhanghao then started to form a fist with his hands. The grip crumbled the envelope that Zhanghao never let go of, even though those rough minutes of his annual exercise.
For 20 minutes Zhanghao stood, knees slightly bent with his hands on them. Even the security guard was questioning on the sidelines, probably not saying anything knowing he could not penalize students for standing in one place, unmoved. Or maybe it was the fact that another student was also doing the same thing but with clearly different intent?
From a couple feet away, stood a boy, with a color-blocked polo, black slacks and a navy-blue blazer. His hair parted yet curled, eyebrows full, heart-like face shape and the most beautiful, perfect lips... he was stunning from head to toe. Even his height was a plus. However, the only different about this student, was that he had no student ID.
"Stand here for what? This school scares you that much?"
That guy who was only feet away was now inches away, next to Zhanghao who snapped back into reality as he lifted his head up along with his upper body, fixing his posture. The first impressions were on this mysterious guy's beauty.
Zhanghao, shockingly back to normal in a click of time, utters some "oh"s and hums as he looks away, realizing how weird he looked.
"An envelope? With... a heart sticker? Confession letter?"
With many short statements, said in a curious, questioning way, the unknown student looked at the slightly dazed boy. All Zhanghao did was nod, with his head back up, looking at the handsome guy.
