"You gotta admit, Harry Styles is hot."

Leia and Kira walked side by side, blue and red slushies in each of the girl's hand. School went by like a breeze. "I mean, I guess so?", Kira muttered, her attention on her scuffed worn out black and white converses. Leia let out a loud gasp, clearly offended by her best friends hesitant. "You just hurt my feelings!" Kira laughed in amusement and playfully bumped Leia's shoulder.

Kira and Leia have been best friends since kindergarten. It all started when a boy punched Kira's face for eating the last ham sandwich. Apparently he always had the last ham sandwich but Kira was so hungry at the moment, she gobbled it down in a second. She unfortunate got a knuckle sandwich after that. (Get it...cause she got pun-...nvm). But then Leia, who saw the whole scene unfold, stormed up to him and punched him right in the nose.Blood began trickling down his face, and the teachers called him mother, then they left, never actually coming back after that.

"Your coming over to my place right? We gotta test tomorrow on Biology." Kira held her now empty slushy, talking to Leia as they walked to her house. Leia shook her head, "Can't, gotta help Mom in the kitchen. This'll be the third time this week I've lied to her. I think she's catching on."

Kira looked down in slight disappointment. Leia always helped her with her work, and she always passed her tests and assignments. But without her, Kira always saw an F on her paper. Leia was the more, smarter one in the duo. Of course, Kira wasn't unintelligent, but she just wasn't as sharp as Leia.

Kira let out a faint chuckle, "Yeah, wouldn't wanna keep your Mom waiting. I'll study tonight and show you my answers tomorrow, deal?" Leia nodded in agreement and waved Kira a goodbye before crossing the street to her own home.

Walking into her one story home, Kira walked in on her Mom sitting at the dining table. She had a mug of coffee on her left, and stacks of paper on her right. Kira's Mom worked at a hospital, she was a nurse. Everyday her Mom would work morning to midnight, sometimes not even coming home until the next day. Kira was at home by herself most of the times, studying, watching television or cooking herself some dinner. She didn't actually know how to cook, but she made noodles.

"Hey Mom, how was work," Kira whispered, kissing her exhausted Mom on the check. Leanne let out a huge sigh, showing a lazy grin befor saying, "same as usual." She doesn't really like being a nurse, but she says it pays the bills and puts food on the table. "Oh, maybe tomorrow'll be better Mom." Leanne drank from her mug, taking a long slurp before gently placing it down. "Hopefully, we'll I'm exhausted. I'm gonna take a nap. Already packed your lunch for tomorrow baby." Kira watched as her mother headed through the hallway and into her room.

Kira sighed. "Love you Mom."

Picking herself on her feet, she grabbed her bag and headed towards the living room. She slumped onto the long black couch. Kira sat the re for a moment, thinking about today's events in boredom.

Ding.

Furrowing her eyebrows, Kira reached her for her back pocket and plucked out her phone. On the screen, a notification popped up from Instagram that made Kira Fernandez' blood boil enormously.
