INTRODUCTION

Danielle pov

The best day of my life happened when I was five and almost died at Disney World. Weird right? Well, if you think the same, then we have similar thinking!  Hi, I am Lee Danielle, but my real name is Lee-sae-byeol. Know the meaning of my name, a star. but in my eyes, the star has to be my sister. 

I was shy and nerdy from when I can remember. god didn't gift me looks but brains. that's how I was able to survive. with daily bullying and harassment in school left me too shaken. At least the teachers liked me due to the marks I scored. I was the top student at the school. I passed the CSAT exams with a hundred and ninety-seven. I got an e-mail from Seoul national university, the top university in Korea, but I declined it and applied for Harvard instead. thankfully, I got selected there too and graduated with honors. and on day zero, I started getting job offers from the top hotel management companies. despite all this, guess who my parents praised the most?

I belong to a simple middle-class family of 4 members. my father, my mother, and my sister   Sae-yeon. She wasn't interested in studies but in beauty. She was the girl all guys drooled after at school and had a million boyfriends. She got married at the early age of 25 and is a successful housewife at least.

Everyone always praised how beautiful she was. on the other hand, I always used to get taunts on how would I ever seduce a boy or get married. Of course, I didn't use to care, but now, even I think I needed to get rid of these ruddy glasses.

I applied for Harvard because it was my dream from the day I was born. I always dreamt of a place where people would appreciate this Einstein mind of mine, even if it's just a little. And now, I got an excellent job and knew I would be the best hotel manager they have ever had in history. I immediately told my parents about it and when I converted my salary to Korean won, words failed to come from them.

"75 million won!"

"Yes Mom, I even got all the insurance"

"Wait till I tell your dad about this."

When Dad learned about it, he was already on the verge of tears.

"You see, my daughter is a big girl now!"

I talked to her for some time then hung up. I had that victorious feeling. Finally, I did something my sister couldn't. all the glory's mine, I thought confidently. Tomorrow will be my first day at work as the vice manager at Lowell, the most expensive hotel you can ever walk in. The only thing to worry about is my boss, a.k.a the CEO of the company. I've never seen him, but according to everyone I met during my interview, he is the most ruthless boss you can ever find on this planet. The last person you would expect to be kind is him. I wonder how my first meeting will be with him.
