CHAPTER 12: THE GIRL

DANIELLE POV

TIME SKIP, 2 DAYS LATER, MORNING

I was rushing over here and there searching for stuff around my house. Yes, you're right, I'm late again. But no matter how late I am, I never forget to check off dates on my calendar. Days until it's finally time I fly. This is the biggest project I've ever got (not to mention the first one) and I want to give my best. I looked carefully—only 2 days to go.

Well, I and David have been working tirelessly on the project for the last few days. Yes, after that incident. Things have been quite Okay now I am very late. Thinking this, I stepped out.

TIME SKIP, OFFICE

Thankfully I reached the office on time. I was rushing towards my office, worrying I'd be late for the meeting scheduled for this morning. Then, I bumped into someone. And my luck it turned out to be Su-Jin.

"Oh hey, Dan! Late aren't you?" Judging her behavior, he told her nothing. I let loose a sigh of relief and answered her rather cheerfully.

"Yeah"

"fine I won't hold you for long but.." she came nearer and whispered in my ear "Let it be a secret ok?"

I was stunned. So she was aware of yesterday's events. I started feeling awkward. reluctantly I replied.

"Indeed"

"cool then. See you later" She said and walked off. I checked the time. Oh Lord, I'm damn late, I said before running off. I kept running and running until someone blocked me.

"Well, someone's late" It was Olivia.

"ohh um well..."

"You know what, you come with me" She grabbed my hand and led me to her office. Upon reaching her office, she locked the door, turned around, and excitedly screamed at me.

"OH MY GOD! WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME?"

I looked at her in confusion. "Tell you about what?"

"That you are going to Korea to crack the deal?"

"Oh about that- anyway, who told you this?"

"Oh sir did. And I assume he told you not to tell anyone, right?"

"Yeah. I'm sorry I was unable to tell you about it"

"It's fine, you were in a tough position. Anyways, now that we both know, we should start preparing for it!"

"But what about the proposal? I need to finish it today tomorrow is the deadline"

"Don't worry about that. The leftover work will be taken care of. Whatever work you've done is already sent to the manager for supervision"

"Manager? Who would that be?"

"Oh, you must have not been introduced to him. He left for a foreign work trip the same day you joined. Didn't you see him?"

"Tell me more about his physique"

"Oh the most popular one, he has freckles"

"Ahh the clipboard man!"

"You call him clipboard man? Fair enough. Anyway, let's not waste time. We have a lot on our plate. For the next 2 days, you are to come here to receive training so that you will be able to do your duties as a personal assistant properly"

"Right. Let's begin"

TIME SKIP, EVENING

I was heading out of the cabin. Olivia left early because she had work but left me some documents to arrange. Done with that, I prepared to leave. Anyways, I'm damn excited for it! Olivia told me about the events I'll have to attend, and how I have to keep my temper and maintain a straight face even when I meet the foulest person out (rich people are mostly foul) was what Olivia said. Bearing this all in mind, I left the building. I need to go shopping. banquets, conferences, media reportings, parties, meetings. I don't have so many clothes. Plus, I should also buy some good quality clothes. I'll be amongst the richest and the most popular businessmen out there. I have to put a good effort into selecting my outfits.

I first went to a cafe and figured out the exact outfits I'd wear at different events before finally making it to the mall.

TIME SKIP 2 HOURS LATER

Well, I bought all the clothes in the first hour of my being here but the dress which I am supposed to wear at the evening banquet is not yet decided. I went through a lot of dresses but am unable to decide on the right one.

One was a bit shabby. Another was too revealing. I liked the purple one but I thought that it might be a bit too much. Then I found it. A beautiful red dress. It was beautiful. It had a nice long silhouette with a beautiful design complementing it, making the overall piece look eye-catching and fantastic.

"Would you like this on?" The salesgirl asked.

I was about to say yes when my eyes went on the price tag. My eyes almost popped out of my eyes.

"two hundred thousand dollars!"

"Yes. I agree it's rather expensive because of its innovative design and the quality of the dress"

"I get it. But maybe not this one" I said before moving on"

DAVID POV

"Lia just for how long do you plan on walking around like this? You haven't bought a single thing till now!"

"Yeah, I'm trying! It's not my fault that nothing is to my liking!"

"Whatever, I'm tired. You keep it on, I'm leaving"

"What! You're going to leave without me? Oh, how can you even think of leaving me alone here like this? Do you have any idea how dangerous the world has got-"

"Please stop." I took a deep breath. "Fine 15 minutes are all you've got. Go buy anything you like and if you're not out by the time I take out the car, you go home alone"

"what-"

Before she completed her sentence, I walked off while tapping my watch indicating that she didn't have much time yet. Sighing, I saw her heading towards the restrooms.

DANIELLE POV

I bought another dress. A black one with rhinestones on it. Actually, it wasn't bad but it also wasn't as good as the red one. After paying for it, I decided to use the restroom before leaving.

I was almost done, just washing my hands. Just then, a girl barged in. She was wearing a mini skirt and a hot pink tube top, her blond hair done in crazy curls, and had an extreme amount of makeup on her face. And for some strange reason, she took out more makeup. Suddenly, she started speaking to me. She sounded like she was in a hurry.

"Hey, pass me a tissue please" I did.

"Now tuck it on my neckline" I did.

After doing all the labor, I again went back to washing my hands but when I opened the tap, she practically started screaming at me.

"Hey stop the water is splattering at me!"

I've had enough. I roughly closed the tap, and asked sarcastically,

"Do you need me to do anything, madam?"

"Mmmm... Yeah, I didn't have my dinner. Prepare a salad for me and no cream in it or else I won't eat it"

"DOES IT LOOK LIKE I'M YOUR HOUSEMAID?" I thundered, and she flinched.

"Hey, who do you think you are shouting at? I practically own this store!"

"Really, pretty bad choice this store's directors got" Saying this, I grabbed some water in my hand and sprinkled it all over her. She screamed at the top of her lungs.

"ARE YOU CRAZY? DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW MUCH THIS SKIRT COSTS!"

"I don't need to. But I'll let you know it looks like shit" Saying this I sprinkled some more water before walking out. From behind, I heard her deafening scream. I took my bags and walked out of the mall.
