CHAPTER NINETY ONE !

Estella had spent the morning packing up some stuff to go with jack to hilltop. liv had decided to join them, too. she was getting clementine ready to go. they had been in a council meeting that morning to declare the fate of connie, kelly, magna, luke, and their friend in the infirmary, yumiko. they weren't able to live with the people of alexandria, but michonne said they could stay at hilltop.

they'd go to hilltop when yumiko was up on her feet and ready to go, as she was still in the infirmary and they couldn't just throw her out when she was badly injured. estella didn't agree with the decisions they made, and neither did judith, but they didn't have a say in the matter. it wasn't like their opinions would change a thing. michonne was set in her decisions and that was it.

"hi." estella was startled by judith, making her turn around.

"oh. hey, jude." estella smiled, brushing the horse. "what's up?"

"i just heard my mom talking to herself." she said, sitting down.

"talking to herself?" she questioned, judith nodded.

"yeah, i tried to walk away but she noticed me. she seems angry, i don't know why." the younger huffed. "i don't want you to go to hilltop. can't you stay here with me?"

"it's only for a couple days. i'll be back before you know it. i'll tell everyone you say hi." she said, making judith sadly nod.

"i'll miss you." she said, giving estella a hug.

"i'll miss you, too. it'll be weird not having my little sidekick. i'll make sure to hurry." estella said, hugging her back. "why don't you hold onto these while i'm gone? take good care of them."

estella pulled out issy's letter and the scrapbook from her backpack and handed them to judith. judith loved them, especially the scrapbook, as it contained pictures of her dad, siblings, and all the people she had lost. she cherished the memories of carl and her dad's voices, but couldn't remember issy's. estella always kept the memory of beth and tyreese alive, who had looked after judith like a mother and saved her life.

"thank you." judith smiled, hugging the book to her chest.

"you're welcome, now go to your lesson." estella said, pushing the girl gently. judith just giggled and ran away.

she put the brush back down on the chair, and mounted clem. she began walking the horse to the front gate, where she patiently waited as estella dismounted, and ran off to the house to collect jack. she opened the door, and he was stood in the kitchen, some paper in front of him. he was marking the kid's school work.

"i thought you said we were leaving." estella said to him.

"we are, right after i finish reading gracie's mythical story she wrote for me in 'er english class." jack said, leaning over the counter as he read the story carefully. "she's basically copied alice in wonderland but changed up the words."

"that's kind of smart." estella shrugged.

"i'm pretty sure it's plagiarised." jack said, she scoffed.

"i'm sure the author won't care. they're probably dead." she said, biting a cookie. "now come on, we have to go."

jack moved the paper to the drawer, and got up. "why are you so eager to go? we still don't know if liv's ready or not."
