Tam's POV

"For the last time, nothing happened!" I insist to Linh, who is stubbornly persisting for detail about my date.

Not that there were any details.

Nope.

None.

Just that one part...outside the ice cream guy's place...

I stick my tongue out at Keefe. It almost clips his nose, we're so close.

So close I could...

He touches my chin and I lean in,

But then the ice cream dude came back and he said, "Y'all are mad gay for each other."

And we both turned bright red and looked away.

The dude laughed and handed us our ice cream.

"See y'all around, my gay homies!" He called to our backs as we walked away.

Awkward silence settled over us as we ate.

"Hey Tam," Keefe said, looking distracted.

"Hmm?" I responded, too focused on my ice cream and if I really wanted to kiss Keefe.

"I have a question."

"Shoot."

"Are you gay?"

I pause. OH NO HAD HE FOUND OUT!?!?!

"Why?" I asked, trying for a casual tone, but I was having a gay meltdown and Keefe could clearly tell.

"Just curious."

"Okay...what'll happen if I say I am?"

He grinned stupidly. "Then I kiss you."

HOLY SHIT WAS HE GAY!?!!

"And if I say I'm not?"

"Then we leave the beach and pretend this entire thing never happened."

I dunno, that kiss sounds pretty good to me...

"I'm gay," I blurt before I can fully come to a decision.

Oh fuck.

Keefe smiles and kisses me softly. 

GODAMMIT HOW WAS HE SO GOOD AT KISSING?!?!

I lean into the kiss, destroying my ice ream by putting in the sand.

Oh no my poor ice cream.

But ice cream vs Keefe kiss...I would take the kiss any day.

Keefe eventually, which was still too soon to me, breaks away and smiles widely.

I grin back.

He checks his watch. "Oh shit! It's 6:30! We goths get home!"

We quickly get up and start walking towards the cars. I stop before I can get there.

"What is it Tam?" Keefe asks.

"I was just wondering..." I said.

"Yeah?"

"Can we do this again sometime?"

Yet another smile. I seem to make Keefe smile a lot. "Of course."

And with that, we got into our cars and drove off.

FLAHSBACK OVER

"Hey Linh," I ask as I come back into reality.

"'Sup?"

"Can I do another blind date. With the exact sam person and place?" I ask timidly, blushing.

Her smile was so big, I thought it would stretch off her face. "Yes Tammy!"

I sighed with relief and laid down on my bed.

Thank god.
