I woke up this morning with a huge headache from crying myself to sleep last night. I walked in my bathroom and just looked at myself in the mirror. I looked kind of bad because of my red eyes, my hair everywhere and a scratch and purple mark on my cheek. I tried to hold back the tears and sighed.
Ever since my dad left my mom, she has been drinking way more and smoking a lot. I think she's also using drugs. Her solution to everything now is either smoke/get high, get drunk or beat Amiyah. Sometimes all. She doesn't work. She gets disability checks for me. No I don't have any disabilities she lied and said I have three disabilities. My legs are paralyzed so I use a wheelchair. Something's wrong with my kidneys and the third one is unknown. Pathetic. Why would you lie about your child having any disabilities? It's like she gets high and or aroused beating me.
The beatings started 2 and a half years ago. I was 14.
*FLASHBACK*
"Mom?" I said walking upstairs.
"Where the hell were you?" She asked angrily. The smell of liquor and beer was coming off of her and cigarettes and some other smell.
"Its Friday mom. I was at school. And practice after school."
She walked closer to me and got in my face. "Just because your dad cheated and left me doesn't mean anything!" I just looked at her like she was crazy.
"Mom I was j-" I was cut off with a smack. I wasn't necessarily scared I was shocked that she hit me. Hard.
"Oh so you're getting smart AND talking back?!" I just looked at her starting to get scared.
She slapped me and slapped me and punched me. This lasted for about 3 minutes. By then I was crying my eyes out. I didn't know what to do and why she was doing this to me.
"You know... I should spit on you and kick you but I'm not that mean."
She went in her room and slammed her door. I tried to walk to my room but I fell down and crawled. I went in my bathroom and just cried. After minutes of crying I took me a bath but revealed my brand new bruises on my arms and legs. That just made me cry even more.
*END OF FLASHBACK*
I'm trying to hold back the tears the best way I could but they slowly made their way down my face. I wished my mom would just love me like I love her. I mean yeah she does beat me but I will always love her.
I wiped my tears and did my hygiene. I put a little makeup on and got dressed for school. I wore a rainbow floral print crop top, light blue ripped skinny jeans, all black varsity jacket, mini blue UGGS, black bow necklace, and gold pearl bow stud earrings. I put my hair in a high neat bun and a side bang.
Even though my mom beats me, she makes sure I have clothes. She even gives me a thousand dollars every month from my 'disability' checks.
I made my way downstairs and out the door. I pulled out my iphone and called Jai'Anna.
RING RING RI-
"Hello" she said sounding like she just woke up.
"GOODMORNING SUNSHINE!" I yelled into her ear.
"SHUTUPPP! Its to early for all that shit."
"Yeah yeah yeah whatever be ready when I get there."
"Bye" she said while hanging up.
I pulled out my Beats and turned on pandora while walking to Jai house. "Save me" came on and I started singing along. 5 blocks later, I finally made it to Jai's house and knocked on the door. Jai'Anna's mom opened the door.
"Goodmorning Ms. Brown" I said while hugging her.
"Goodmorning baby. Jai is in her room."
"Okay. Thanks." I smiled at her.
I made my way upstairs and walked in her room. She walked out the bathroom wearing a black and white varsity jacket, black ripped jeans, white shirt with dork in black, black retro 5's and button pearl silver earrings. She had her hair in a high messy bun.
"MIYAH POOH!" she yelled while running towards me. I flinced a little when she squeezed me. She pulled away with concern written all over her face. It quickly turned into anger.
"Did she hit you again?"
"Yeah but calm down we need to go"
"I CANT CALM DOWN WHEN MY BESTFRIENDS MOTHER IS BEATING HER!" she yelled.
"Shhhh I'm okay I promise. Let's go before were late." I said quickly trying to change the subject.
"Don't try to change the subject but let's go."
We walked out her room and made our way downstairs.
"See you later mom"
"Bye Ms.Brown" we said at the same time.
"Bye babies be safe"
"We will" Jai said.
We walked out the house and made our way to school.
