We meet again

Jungkook and Yoongi were riding back to the academy when Taehyung suddenly appeared in front of them. Without hesitation, Jungkook quickly dismounted from his horse and launched an attack against him. Taehyung, however, had no intention of fighting and only attempted to defend himself. He tried to explain his appearance but Jungkook refused to listen and continued to attack him with the intent to kill. Yoongi eventually joined in the attack, and they fought for an hour until a sudden gust of wind sent them both flying back.

"Enough!" Shouted Taehyung, whose body was covered in cuts and bruises. Jungkook and Yoongi struggled to stand up and catch their breath, determined to continue their fight. Jungkook launched another attack, only to be interrupted by Taehyung's urgent cry, "Jinnie needs you!" Startled by the plea, Jungkook's sword froze mere centimeters from Taehyung's throat. Locking eyes with Taehyung, his gaze brimming with nothing but animosity, Jungkook demanded, "what have you done to him?" Stepping back cautiously, Taehyung let out a breath and confessed, "I administered Middlemist powder to him."

Jungkook was taken aback, unable to fathom Taehyung and his father's intentions. His heart was heavy, tears welling up in his eyes, as he realized that his beloved might no longer remember him. The Middlemist plant was an extremely rare specimen, its powder capable of erasing memories permanently. Even a slight miscalculation in dosage could wipe out an entire lifetime of memories. In that agonizing moment, Jungkook let out a heart wrenching scream. Just as he had decided to seek out Jin and fight for their love. But now, it seemed futile, for the memories were forever lost.

As Yoongi approached his friend, he inquired, "what exactly are you expecting from Jungkook? Jin has no memories of him."

With pleading eyes, Taehyung lowered his sword and turned to Jungkook, "It's all my fault, but Jinnie needs your help. Please come with me." Yoongi's response was cynical laughter, "do you seriously think we'll believe you?" Jungkook interrupted, desperate to understand, "what exactly do you want from me? Even if I stand in front of him, he won't recognize me." Yoongi couldn't believe Jungkook would consider helping those who mistreated them, "you're not seriously going to help them, after everything they've done to you and us?" Jungkook sighed and looked at Yoongi, "I'm not helping them, I only want to help Jin." Taehyung bowed his head and thanked Jungkook before Yoongi could protest. It was the first time the dark spirit had shown them respect since their first encounter.

"Jungkook, please reconsider. You can't trust them," Yoongi insisted, but his words fell on deaf ears. They fell silent as the two men locked eyes. Yoongi let out a sigh and made a firm declaration, "if you're going, I'm going with you." Taehyung glanced at Yoongi and retorted, "you weren't invited." Suddenly, Jungkook threw a punch at Taehyung, shocking both Yoongi and Taehyung. Wide eyed, Taehyung wiped the blood from his lower lip, taken aback by the sudden aggression. Through gritted teeth and a pointed finger, Jungkook spoke, "This is your fault, and Jin needs me. If my friend wants to join me, it's my decision, not yours." His words were filled with frustration and resentment.

With the ability to materialize, the three men swiftly returned to the dark spirit realm in just half a day. As they approached the palace, they spotted Jin practicing his shield projection skills by the big river. Upon seeing Taehyung, Jin joyfully ran over and leaped into his open arms.

"TaeTae, where have you been? I missed you," Jin asked as Taehyung planted a kiss on his head. After embracing, Jin took a step back and noticed Jungkook and Yoongi standing there. He turned to his brother and asked, "won't you introduce your friends?" Although Jungkook forced a smile, he felt heartbroken as he saw how much thinner and paler Jin looked but also seemed happy without any memory of their past together. "Why am I really here?" he asked Taehyung.
