On the second day of Jin's kidnapping by the dark spirit, Jungkook informed the council about the abduction. The council was more taken aback by the appearance of a dark spirit after nearly a century in the human world. They hoped that the dark spirits would be willing to engage in conversation. While they sympathized with the young boy who had been kidnapped, since he was unknown and held no significant importance, the council decided not to take any action. They were unwilling to risk upsetting the dark spirits.
Jungkook clenched his fists, his face showing signs of anger. Yoongi squeezed his arm, preventing him from uttering anything that might lead to his expulsion from the academy. While leaving, Jungkook declared, "I'll bring him back."
"Jungkook, that's absurd. You don't even know where to look," admonished Yoongi, prohibiting him from engaging in foolish behavior. However, witnessing the determination on his closest friend's face, he understood that nothing could deter him.
Jungkook spoke without glancing at Yoongi, stating, "I know exactly where Jin has been taken - to the high plateau."
Yoongi, sounding irritated, questioned, "why is Jin so important to you?"
Jungkook took a deep breath and looked up at the sky, posing a hypothetical scenario, "if Jimin, Hoseok, or any of our students were kidnapped by the dark spirit" he looked back at Yoongi, "would you simply sit back and do nothing?"
Yoongi was taken aback and replied, "of course not." However, before he could continue, Jungkook interrupted him, asking, "then why is Jin any different?"
Yoongi sighed and replied, "Jinn isn't a student."
Jungkook gave him a confusing look, then questioned, "only our students are deserving of being saved?"
Remaining quiet, Yoongi muttered to himself, "I'm uncertain if Jin requires rescuing. The way the dark spirit acted towards him, it seemed to have a connection and concern for him. Perhaps they're related in some way or have a familial bond."
Jungkook, too, pondered over the relationship between Jin and the dark spirit. He considered the possibility of Jin working for the spirit, as dark spirits typically only form bonds with their own kind. Jin's spirit was feeble, indicating that he could not possibly be a dark spirit himself.
As he pondered, a disturbing thought entered his mind, 'what if Jin was merely a servant to the dark spirit, who kept him by its side for selfish reasons?' Jungkook then faced Yoongi and stated firmly, "I need you to take charge of the school." Yoongi cut him off before he could finish. "Absolutely not! You can't leave us for a boy you barely know." The anger in Yoongi's voice was real. Despite this, Jungkook remained resolute in his decision to bring Jin back.
Jimin and Hoseok were eager to accompany Master Jungkook in his mission to rescue Jin. They had vowed to safeguard Jin, and now that he was missing, they felt a sense of urgency to save him. The thought of the harm that the dark spirit could inflict on Jin was unbearable.
"Master, please allow us to join you. I assure you that we won't be a burden," implored Jimin.
"Please Master, we'll follow your lead and do whatever it takes," Hoseok added.
As Namjoon and Yoongi listened, they both rolled their eyes at the naive words of the other two. Jungkook thanked the teachers but insisted on going alone, not wanting to put anyone else in danger. He knew that entering the high plateau, home to the dark spirits, could be a one-way ticket.
News of Master Jungkook's departure reached the council, and they threatened to strip him of his position as head of the Northern Star academy if he left. But Jungkook didn't care about their threats. He had to go, even if it meant risking his life. Without Jin, life wasn't worth living anyway.
