Jason wasn't sure what he just witnessed. No, not just witnessed. What HE just lived through.

All he knew was that he was cornered, stood like he stood before a firming line. He knew he'd die in battle, he had no other life to live. But he didn't expect to die with his back to the stone and unable to fight back.

But he was saved, or warned. The sand started to attack, spooked the Magi enough to run with great terror and horror. The very sand that started nipping, blowing up around him and starting to turn against him after having saved him seconds before.

Something evil stood below him, buried deep under that he wasn't paid enough to deal with. He'd ran, started to run with every bit of energy he had left in him. His need for survival taking over his brain.

It was unknown to him at the moment, a lock of his hair had turned white as if he was brushed by death and ripped away last minute. A lock of white hair that'd follow him and remind him over this day for the rest of his life.

Meanwhile, at the top of the ridge...

"The Creature remains undiscovered" Roy mumbled with slight pride and relief as he looked to the silent battleground, each and every soldier slaughtered and soon the sand would forever hide their bodies.

Hamunaptra secrets and buried threats would be left untouched, unseen and unbothered once more. Rumours over the deaths and disappearance of the soldiers would keep many away for years to come. And those who dared to risk their lives would be met with them waiting and ready to deal with them swiftly once more.

"And what of this one?" One of the Magi members spoke up, nodding towards Jason in the distance.

All of them watching as Jason did a  wobbly ran. The outsider never wanting to find out what laid under the sand, even if it saved him from the Magi. His fear sending him far into the dessert blindly.

Roy ran a hand through his dark, fiery red hair, pushing it out of his face once more as his firm and curious green eyes stared towards the only survivor. Just watching Jason's retreating body from the lost city and noticing how he already looked half dead already. The desert would clearly take him before night fell and that will be one less pest they'd have to worry over finding the evil within the sands.

Roy did raise a surprise eyebrow as he watched Jason come to a sudden halt, slowly looking over his shoulder and looking straight at them. Acting like a smart but hazardous prey before their hunter.

Jason being brave enough to try and meet with Roy's own eyes before turning back to look ahead. But Roy noticed something, even from the distance. Their was a look in the man's eyes, a look that Roy was unsure over, it had caught his interest and yet, he feared the unknown look as well.

This man was a survivor.

"Should we kill him" The Magi member asked as they turned to their leader who kept his eyes on Jason's retreating back.
