"Oh hey Jisu. Food will be served in a second. Please take a seat." Ryujin went back to frying the bacon, humming as she did so. The heavenly smell of meat wafted in my nose. Combined with the scent of coffee, I was basically in paradise.

"Where's Yeji?" I asked casually as I took a seat on the head of the table.

Ryujin turned off the stove, scooping the strips of bacon expertly with her spatula and placing it in the plate. She walked briskly to me before answering. "She went to the market to buy some produce." Ryujin slid the plate to me. "Bon appetit!"

"I thought you were supposed to be Asian?" I asked curiously as I murdered the first batch of bacon. "So shouldn't it be itadakimasu, or something like that?"

"I'm not really from this planet remember?" she chuckled. "I can speak whatever language I please. It's just that Asians look really good so I copied their appearance. I'm really wide eyed and pale, very much like Chaeryeong. But since she's..." Ryujin searched for the right term. "Special. Chaeryeong is one, if not the most beautiful in the galaxy. Both here and beyond."

"Oh," I murmured, chewing thoughtfully. "And..." It was now or never Jisu. Just ask her. "And where exactly is Chaeryeong right now? She wasn't around when I woke up."

Ryujin paused, giving me plenty of time to think. It was more than a week ago since Chaeryeong saw me almost kissing Soobin inside the car. Since then, she was nowhere to be found. The alien did go to school, but she wouldn't talk to me, go near me, or so much as glance at me. It was really freaking me out. And to think that she was so clingy before that happened. I must have done something wrong to piss her off.

"Chaeryeong is around," Ryujin said, taking a seat on my right. "She's getting accustomed to the ways of the earth. Give her time."

I was so tempted to ask why Chaeryeong was avoiding me, as well as where the alien slept and ate, but I held my tongue. "Giselle was asking for her. The cheerleading tryouts ended a week ago."

Ryujin brushed it off with a wave of her hand. "Do not worry about that Jisu. Chaeryeong already talked with Giselle yesterday. We will all be given a chance to tryout for the team even if it officially ended for the student body." My stomach flipped. I was hoping against that Giselle would let the whole thing go since we didn't make it to the tryouts. She must really want us on the team.

"So," Ryujin said, looking seriously at me. "What are your plans for today? It's the weekend. I read in a book that people here love to spend time with their friends, or what they call hang out." Ryujin began to have this weird expression on her face. "Do they really suspend their selves on a high place? Is that why they call it hanging out? Or when they say chill, do they lock themselves in a freezer?"

I burst out laughing. "No silly. It's just a human term for getting together."

Her brows furrowed. "I see. There are a lot of strange meanings here. Sometimes it gets confusing. I'm very tempted to study the whole human emotions and ways, but since our supreme leader doesn't want that, Yeji and I have to abide."

"Here's another thing you need to know Ryujin," I said with a smile. "Don't call Chaeryeong your supreme leader outside this house ok? People will not only think it's weird as hell, she'll also be mistaken for Kim Jong Un."

"The fat one?" she asked innocently.

I tried to keep a laugh from escaping. "Exactly." My mobile vibrated, signaling a call from someone. I grabbed it from my pocket, answering. "Soobin." When his name was mentioned, I could feel Ryujin's eyes boring on my face, making me turn my head away.
