As Hank was making his way out of Xeno's throne room after locking away the multiversal threat, he entered Green Hill. Suddenly, a portal opened up and a black and red anthropomorphic jackal emerged. It was Infinite, a former member of the Jackal Squad and the wielder of the Phantom Ruby from the Sonic Forces universe.
"Well, well, well, if it isn't the infamous Hank. You're quite the troublemaker, aren't you?" Infinite taunted.
Hank didn't respond, but instead readied his weapon and prepared to fight. "I don't have time for your shit, you're in my way."
Infinite grinned under his mask. "I'm afraid I can't let you leave here alive. I have orders to stop you."
The two charged at each other, their weapons clashing as they engaged in a fierce battle. Hank was able to keep up with Infinite's speed and agility, using his own martial arts and weapons to defend himself and strike back.
"You're not bad, but you're no match for the power I wield!" Infinite exclaimed, as he activated his Phantom Ruby, creating illusions and warping reality to his will.
Hank was momentarily disoriented, but quickly regained his focus and adapted to Infinite's tactics. He countered with his own special abilities, including his advanced combat techniques and his enhanced physical attributes.
As the fight continued, Hank and Infinite traded blows and countered each other's moves. The battle was intense, with the two evenly matched combatants fighting tooth and nail to gain the upper hand.
"You're tough, I'll give you that," Infinite grunted, as he dodged one of Hank's attacks. "But you're no match for the power of the Phantom Ruby!"
Infinite then unleashed a massive wave of energy from the Phantom Ruby, but Hank was able to deflect it with his own weapon, sending the energy blast back towards Infinite.
"You underestimate me," Hank replied, as he charged towards Infinite, his weapon glowing with energy.
The two clashed one final time, and Hank landed a powerful blow that sent Infinite flying backwards. As Infinite struggled to regain his footing, Hank stood over him, his weapon pointed at his fallen opponent.
"You were warned," Hank stated coldly, as he prepared to strike the finishing blow.
But before he could, a voice interrupted him. It was The Watcher, who had arrived on the scene.
"Hold your attack, Hank. You've proven your worth. There are greater threats ahead," The Watcher warned.
Hank hesitated for a moment, but ultimately decided to spare Infinite's life. "Fine, but next time we meet, I won't be so merciful," he said to Infinite, as he walked away.
As he left, The Watcher approached Infinite. "You were lucky this time. But make no mistake, there are heroes who won't be so forgiving in the future if you fight them" The Watcher said, before disappearing into another portal. Infinite laid there alone, knowing that he had narrowly escaped death.
