a/n: i just realized I forgot to post this like last month so my bad. Enjoy a double upload lol

(Sorry for the lack of dialogue, I wanted to sum everything up and get back to YN's perspective)

Niki had been peacefully running her bakery for the last couple of weeks with no problems. At first there were the normal challenges of getting the place built as an addition to her home but that was solved when she just built an extra room and voila. However over time she had noticed that some of the loaves of bread would go missing during her lunch breaks. So one day when she would normally go eat lunch out she instead waited in the back room and listened, waiting, and sure enough, the bell above the door rang, and in came what sounded like two people whom she recognized immediately as Tommy and Tubbo. They were two of the younger boys in the care of Wilbur Soot who was a dear friend of hers that she'd met after arriving here.

Wilbur was a nice gentleman who lived with his best friend, Sally, and their son Fundy (and no, they're not married or romantically involved). If she listened closely she could hear Fundy right outside telling them the coast was clear, he seemed to be the “lookout.”

Niki heard Tommy and Tubbo walking right in and over to the counter where they pulled up the glass and presumably picked out a loaf of bread. After she heard them leave she looked to see exactly what was taken. Just like the other times, the loaf was not a big one and not one of the finer ones either which only made her more curious about what it was that they were going to be doing with the bread since surely they weren't going to be having it for a treat. She also knew for a fact that they were being fed well as she often dined with the family and helped make dinner for them all. Deciding to follow them Niki grabbed her coat and walked out seeing fundy's tail right before it went into the forest. The little boy, despite his small size, had a tail that was quite large and often gave away his presence as he was still learning to entirely control it.

She followed them for about 15 minutes and much to her surprise she saw them sitting down in a circle with another young child that was completely unfamiliar. The child's clothes were rather shabby and by the look of their hands and face and hair looks as if they'd been living out in the wild for quite some time. At first, Niki didn't know what to do staring at them for a moment before deciding not to make herself known.

After making her way back to the area where her bakery was located Niki quickly set off to go find where she knew the boys regularly hung out. After an hour or so they eventually arrived and she confronted them about their little “friend” that they had made in the woods. They tried to hide it but that did not go well. After reassuring them that she meant no harm and only wanted to see the child was being well taken care of they explained the situation. Niki, whose heart softened at this information, asked the boys if they'd be willing to ask their friend if they'd like to come to meet her and they said that they would try.

Following their exit, she went to find her friend Puffy. Puffy is a woman quite a bit older than Niki who had already raised two boys. Well, “raised” might be a bit of an odd word in this case but she was a mother and older so Niki thought she might be able to get some advice as most of the people in the town were much too young to care for a child and those who were able to had too much going on in their lives as Wilbur and Sally may have loved to take care of another child they were very busy taking care of their son and Wilbur's brother Tommy as well as foster brother Tubbo since they had come to the SMP before Wilbur's father had.

Switching Perspective
It had not been long after you’d said goodbye to the trio that they reappeared, without Fundy this time you noted. Tommy and Tubbo looked a little different, as if something was wrong.

"Hey guys, why're you back so soon? Where's Fundy?" The boys looked at each other, "What's up?"

Tubbo speaking up, "So… uh, y'know how we borrow bread from that lady to give to you."

"Yeah Niki, right?"

"Yeah! Yeah her," he said looking to Tommy who in turn continued the sentence, "well- we weren't borrowing so much as we were stealing. And she found out and followed us and now she wants to meet you."

Oh, that's- well it was bound to happen at some point you figured. "So, when are we meeting her?" you asked to which the boys smiled, instantly relieved of anxiety.

"Right this way!" Tommy exclaimed, turning around almost like a little toy soldier.

After a brief walk the 3 of you arrive onto a path which you follow straight into town. "We're almost there, just a quick stop at home first," Tubbo said. At this Tommy ran inside the building nearest to your left and came out with 3 small bottles of juice and some weird dried meat.

"What's all that?" you asked, gesturing to his arms.

(Sorry for any non beef eaters)

Tommy's face split off into a large grin, "apple juice and beef jerky."

"What's jerky?" Immediately both the boys gaped at you, "What? Did I say something wrong?"

Tommy pulled a piece out of a disposable wrapping and shoved one at you, "You HAVE to try this." Both of them waited for your reaction as you tore a piece off and began chewing.

"Oh wow," at first it was pretty chewy, especially compared to the bread and berries that you had been eating the last couple weeks but it soon the flavor seeped into your mouth, "Woah, that's amazing!!"

"Told you it'd be!" Tommy exclaims, biting off a large piece for himself.

"Okay, well let's go guys, Niki's waiting," Tubbo said, smiling as he chewed on a piece himself.

Walking through the door you didn't know what to expect, but there was a little bit of excitement though it barely outweighed the anxiety that something might happen upon meeting the new people. However, this turned out to be one of the best decisions you would ever make.

A/N: I hope this turned out well and sorry for both the lack of dialogue and the shortness, school was been keeping me busy.
