Monday morning Gavi and I waste no time. Straight after our ten am training session we start to pack up my belongings from Xavi's house and move them into ours. Once we're all done I sit down on the singular couch in the living room, given to us by Xavi who had it stored away. We moved the mattress up to our room to wait for the bedframe there.
With Gavi out running some errands I set up my tripod and slide my phone into it. This morning on our way out from training Lily had pulled me aside. She explained how everything was going for her as my PR manager and suggested I have more of an online presence. Specifically, she suggested I do a live. I am terrified---what if I mess up and say something I'm not supposed to say? There's no taking anything on a live back, not like videos that can be edited. Nonetheless, I'm going to do it. Whatever will help the team, and if the fans like me they'll like the team more.
I announced it about 20 minutes ago so when I click start people start to flood in. In seconds there's hundreds of people. I swallow the lump in my throat.
"Hello everyone," I say with a small wave, making sure to smile. I read many comments saying hello back to me. Of course there are a few cruel comments as well but I ignore them. "I don't have much to do today so I thought I'd come on here and talk to you guys, maybe answer some questions. Anything from the match yesterday or I guess about myself or the team."
The comments start to flood in:
How old are you, Isla?
You're so gorgeous and an amazing player, you deserve the world.
Leave Barcelona you're only causing problems.
Nepo baby at it's finest.
"I'm seventeen," I chose to answer, "almost 18."
Are you and Gavi really dating?
When's your birthday?
Is it true you're cheating on Gavi with Pedri?
I didn't even know that last one was a rumor. "My birthday is August 26th," I reply. "So five days away." I pause, reading the questions in the chat but not really wanting to answer any of them. "Any questions about the match yesterday?"
What's it like, playing for Barcelona?
I smile. "Playing with Barcelona is amazing. The team is such a family and I love every single one of them, I couldn't imagine playing anywhere else." My answers feel so dry and rehearsed and I'm trying to find a way to make myself loosen up. As I read more comments I see more and more about mine and Gavi's relationship and I decide I'll answer them. "Yes Gavi and I are dating," I say, even though he has confirmed it himself.
How did you guys get together?
"Gavi and I were friends pretty much since I got here and eventually it just happened."
Who made the first move?
I laugh gently. "I don't really remember who made the first move, like I said it just happened." Honestly I'm not actually sure what would've been considered the first move in our relationship and therefor don't know who made it.
Where's Gavi right now?
"He's out running some errands, he might return sometime during my live."
Does he have anger issues off the field too?
What's it like playing with your significant other?
How do you calm Gavi so easily on the field.
As much as I'd rather not talk about mine and Gavi's relationship on a live, it's better then having to talk about something I don't care about, like shopping. I hate shopping. That is why Gavi is doing the errands.
