Elijah followed Elena through the ball room, feeling annoyed and confused. When he finally caught up to her, he took a deep breath and decided to be nice, "I'm sorry if I said or did anything to upset you earlier. I didn't mean to be rude or pushy. I just wanted to know your name."
Elena turned to face him and listened as he continued. "I know I'm not perfect, but I try to be kind and respectful to everyone I meet even if it is... someone of such lower class. And I think you should be grateful to even be talking to me, the great prince of Sylvanor."
Elijah's words sounded extremely arrogant and Elena was not going to take that.
Elena turned to Elijah and said, "You know what, Elijah? You're being really rude right now. Just because you're the prince of Sylvanor doesn't mean you're better than me or anyone else. I don't appreciate you talking down to me and acting like I should be grateful for your attention."
Elijah looked taken aback by her words, but Elena continued. "I'm sorry if I gave you the wrong impression earlier, but that doesn't give you the right to treat me like I'm beneath you. I deserve respect and kindness, just like you do. So if you can't treat me with those basic human qualities, then I think my parents have been right all these years, your family is nothing but arrogant... bitches."
Elijah opened his mouth to speak, but Elena cut him off. "Save it, Elijah. I don't want to hear any more excuses or apologies. Just think about what I said and try to be a better person because this is not how its going to be so if im going to have to continue seeing you even once in a while you're going to need to start being a gentleman. That's all I ask." With that, Elena turned and walked away, leaving Elijah to ponder her words and his own behavior.
